Suggestions? (There are so many new vehicles out there, it's hard to know which to focus on). I'm looking closely at Kia, Dodge, and Toyota. Any advise on new car buying would be appreciated.

I recommend the Ford Explorer or Mercury Moutaineer for an SUV. They have everything you need, plus with the factory incentives on them, you can easily get one in your price range.

There's also the Ford Explorer Sport Trac if you wanted a bed. If you want a full-size 1/2 ton truck then go with the F-150. It's not the best selling vehicle in America for 30-years for no reason.

Kia is crap. Dodge has it's fair share of issues but is overall a good truck and Toyota make vehicles that will last longer than the others but sometimes the cabs are a little small. They have gotten better about that though. If it's a choice between those three, get a Toyota. I don't know that you can get a new one in the price range though.

Acura MDX.
All the other brands are not reliable/dependable.
You can get a decent fully loaded mdx for like 21k.
And its got plenty of cargo space, plus a seven seater standard!
Toyota is good also, but not Dodge or KIA!
