Give her something shocking to poke her nose into. That should cure her fast.

First it would help you gave us an example of how she is being nosy so that we could give you more direct help. Anyways, asking her to mind her own business isn't going to work if it involves her son in any way. If she is constantly digging for information about your guys' relationship, just answer politely that it is between her son and you and although you respect her opinion, you two (you and your husband) would like to deal with it on your own for now.

Every time she starts asking a nosy question change the subject. Do it over and over again and she'll get the drift.

Try to stay away from her or you can tell her straight up that you don't appreciate her being nosy. If I were you I would tell her the truth instead of trying to avoid her but its your decision.

When I ask a question my DIL thinks is not of my business - she asks me why I want to know - most times it's just be nosy and she tells me so!@~

You invite her over! Who cares if she nosey. It really{ probably} only bothers you because it is "THE" mother-in-law!!!!!!!!! When if you stop and think about it , your own mom is the same way. It just doesn't bother us when our own mother is asking the questions... I have learned since the death of my own mother, to look at "mother-in-laws" in a whole new light. Just treat them like you would your own...Whatever that in-tails.

It's your husbands responsibility to say something to her. If you do it will end up causing even more problems for you. He needs to find a respectful, blunt way to tell her to mind her own business. You deal with your side of the family, and he deals with his side of the family.
A lot less friction that way.

When she starts asking questions, give her some outrageous answers, soon she'll catch the drift. If not, ask some questions of your own, make sure your husband is in on it! Good luck!

Be honest with her and say that she is being very nosy, and she should give you privacy.
