Dude, they have them both at the library. Bring them back to the store and get something better.

Honestly, many of the bible's verses are considered to have been messed up, either intentionally or unintentionally. Read the Torah and the Bible and compare. Do they match up? I'd bet ten bucks that the Torah is actually different than the bible. Just IMHO. One reason would be the problem with translation.

The Torah is just the first 5 books

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. It is commonly thought that all 5 were written by Moses.

If you buy a whole bible you will have the complete Torah in it.

and i just want to know why should a Christian tithe and yet be free from keeping any of the laws of the torah(Sabbath, food, etc). The torah is the old "covenant" law. This covenant had as the participants of that covenant, God and the Israelites. Christians are not a party to the old covenant; they are party to the new. If a church teaches tithing to Christians, this is a case of altering Scripture and its application. In other words, it is twisting Scripture. "I mean why keep only some when they are not clearly sated to be done away with?" You have to ignore a lot of Scripture to conclude this, ignoring Romans 7, II Corinthians 3, Galatians 4:21-5:1 and much more. "From what the bible tells me the messiah did not came to do way with the law of the Prophets." You are misunderstanding the passage in Mt. 5:17-18. He came to fulfill that which is written in the law (first 5 books) and the Prophets; the prophesies located in both places. There are no laws codified in the Prophets. The gospel is a declaration of faith in Christ for one's salvation. Anything that appears to conflict with this needs to be examined carefully. If you conclude we have to keep the old covenant laws, then I must ask, why? is your salvation dependent upon it? And if so, then you just over-ruled the gospel instead of having the gospel over-rule your belief. .

well the Jews have a different view of Jesus than Christians do... and i've never read a Torah before so i don't know whats in it. but to answer your question, I personally think they shouldn't charge people to buy Bibles, or Torahs. those should always be available. even poor people should be able to get a Bible if they want one. I recently went into a Christian book store, and it was outrageous what they wanted for a Bible. thrift stores don't charge people for them and they have dozens of them. its a shame, we (the United States) have so many Bibles, yet other Countries like China the Christians there read one page over and over again in secret because if they got caught reading it, they'd go to jail. anyway, sorry for getting off topic ....

Well the Torah is only the first 5 books of the Tanakh (Old Testament) so if you only bought the Torah, you'd be missing more than just the NT

The Torah is in the Bible...but much of the Bible is not in the Torah. If you are a Christian you need the Bible.

You overpaid. Take the Torah back because it is included in the Bible.

i wont look at how the others judged you
the torah is not the old testiment
that you talk of money ,in regard to books beyond price shows you are not ready to know
thus wont understand what is really in them
your mind must be thirsty ,it seems its not ,you bring in the faulse god of money to have higher attendance than the sacred words of wise and foolish yet god fearing respected elders
by your deeds you are to be known in time ,those two of the three books encompas much of the record of when god was god and men were men
compare them and see thier divergence and ask god why.
but also see you tread on that many [beloved and forgiven of god are beyond mans judgement ],that are yet reveared and beloved by man.

You shouldn't have *bought* either. Religious groups give those things away all the time (at least the Bible).
