It goes on the left ring finger.They started putting the engagement/wedding ring on the left ring finger long time a go. They believed it showed your love because the blood flows directly to your heart from that finger. When you are getting married, you do not wear your engagement ring. You put it on top of the wedding band after the ceremony.
