You can call the vet and ask (did you count placentas to make sure all were delivered?), but I'd be a lot more concerned about why she's trying to move these puppies. Is there too much traffic in this room so she feels that her puppies aren't safe? Is it warm enough in there?

My dog did this as well... sometimes it is just normal... the milk glands are very warm and these are keeping the dog warm so in some cases it is normal.... is your whelping area very small... she may be removing the pups just so they stop causing her more body heat... may be worth increasing the area that she is in if that is the case.
HOWEVER... this is also one of the symptoms of eclampsia which is extremely nasty in whelping dogs... other symptoms of this are restlessness and rapid eye movements.. if these occur take her to the vet immediately for a calcium injection..
calcium tablets are Ok if the vet has advised this... I read alot at the time when my girl had pups and they said that it is generally hard for the body to actually absord any of the calcium out of these tablets and so they need the build up in their diet prior to whelping... this is why when eclampsia occurs a tablet will not work and it has to be a direct injection.
My girl did pant most of the time when she had puppys and she was fine...if you are still worried take her to the vet... (it is likely if you ring that they'll just tell you to go in anyway for a check).. but do be on a close look out for the other symptoms... any signs of restlessness or jerky eye movements and take her straight down the vets...
good luck and congratulations on your new litter :)

take her to a vet. She may have a retained pup inside her rotting away and setting up an infection. The milk she produces will be full of bad bacteria and coupld killt he pups. She could have mastitis. You should NOT be giving her calcium tablets. Have you got her in a busy room in the house or is she on her own in peace? Are you letting people come and ahve a look and upsetting her? Have you put heat on for her. They don't need it. You need to get some proper advice as you don't seem to have a clue quite frankly.
Why oh why are people breeding dogs when they have absolutely no idea what they are doing.
VET NOW!!!!

Is she panting while the pups are feeding? That's normal but you should not be giving calcium tablets on their own - that can do more harm than good and can be dangerous for the b1tch's health. Take her to the vet to be checked out, sooner rather than later.

Call your vet for advice if only to put your mind at rest.It is probably nothing serious & nothing to worry about but its better to be safe than sorry. I only say this as my friends dog was unwell after giving birth & ended up dying before they could get her to a vet. She was so angry at herself for not contacting a vet sooner but the dog didnt appear to be really ill & she had thought it was just the effects of giving birth. Good luck & let us know how how the mum & pups progress

Take her to the vet now.if all the placenta's are not out or there could be a dead puppy stuck inside she's in trouble...it could be too much traffic but best to err on the side of caution...my friend's dog had this problem and it turned out she had a mummified puppy still inside her.

you need to get a vets professional advice just to make sure you dont want to loose her or the pups.
Breastfeeding Mums need lots of water too has she enough and perhaps she needs less traffic as already suggested. Good luck.

My dog, Snickers, did the same thing after she had puppies. She had an infection. Take your dog in to the Vet. TODAY.
