I work in retail (a video store). A gunman puts a weapon to my co-worker's head. The robber demands to be given money from the cash drawer. While my co-worker scrambles for the money (and, if the assailant isn't looking): what should I do?

Some of my choices include: klunk a fire extinguisher across the robber's head; notify the gunman that I am behind him, and then excuse myself; walk to an opposing area of the store; or, choose your own scenario.

Personally, I wouldn't put a stunt over my co-worker's life. I would simply stand there and slowly give the person money before they shot me, too. That's all I think would work.

Hit him and RUUN!!!

Well , you dont want to risk your co-workers life so, just give him the money. As he leaves with it sneak behind him and restrain him. Then have your buddy call the cops. Keep him down until help arrives.

Or

Get a good look at his face (or if its covered) his eyes, what type of shoes he's wearing, posture etc. and make note of it. Let him leave then call the cops and tell them what you saw/

Or

If he doesnt see you grab his wrist where the gun is and aim it in the air and pull the trigger as many times until the ammo runs out. Then he will be defensless and beat the crap out of him until the cops arrive.

Or

Just let him take the cash and be safe. :)

Let him have the money. Don't risk your co-worker's life. Insurance will cover the loss of money but nothing will bring the co-worker back to life.

personally, look at yourself. no, im not joking. really. then, look at your assailant...if you see yourself as more capable AND if you can knock him out in one unnoticeable action, do so. but only if you are sure of the odds...

otherwise, do as he/she says. other than risking your co-worker's life, you might risk your's too. lets say your attack failed, im sure the other guy will retaliate. with his gun...

best choice, look at the neighbourhood around the video store. if it looks spooky, change your job. if this incident has already happened, change your job too.

Do nothing. Anything youl might do would endanger the life of your co-worker.

Gee I wouldn't like that, I would go and work somewhere else that doesnt allow guns in the store.
