A quick glance seems to indicate that about a third are correct, about a third are distortions of the truth, and about a third are unequivocally and utterly incorrect.

Hi I recently answered a question where someone mentioned these rules.

In regard to the "Rules" listed above. I do not know why they are listed by people who either know us and know they are filled with half-truths and out right lies or who do not know us and still insist they must be accurate because they saw it somewhere and thus it MUST be true.

I will address a few of these inaccuracies.

#06:) While we do believe that the Bible teaches that 144,000 humans will be reserected, some already have, we of course do not think that "only" Witnesses are in heaven. Jesus and Jehovah and several Angels are there. Besides we do not choose who goes where. That is Jehovah's business.

#09:) We believe that while some will go to heaven that Jehovah's original plan of humans living in paradise was not scrapped just because Adam and Eve screwed up.

#28:) There is no mandate against buying or not buying something. Allot of "Christian" items are not trully Christian case in point Christmas is not Christian.

#29:) Cheerleaders are people too. It is up to everyone to weigh the pros and cons of their actions. Many choose not to pursue non essential after school activities because of content or the amount of time used up.

#39:) We know that anyone who studies the Bible can learn from and understand it. We strive to learn and help others learn about the Bible. Life is a learning process. Over the years we have learned about things that we did that were wrong. We used to celebrate Christmas until we realised it is nonBiblical and very unChristian.

#47:) I LOVE chess and play all the time.

#49:) Child abuse is reported to the authorities. It would be against Bible principles to hide such actions.

#50:) I enjoyed my vacation earlier this year.

#57:) We believe that we should do as Jehovah directs. To this end we strive to follow the Bible. The Bible tells us Sex is to be between Husband and Wife.

#59:) Ownership of windchimes is a personal decision. In some parts of the world they are used in nonChristian customs. We try to always consider the impact our decisions will have on others. Where I live no one, or almost no one, sees wind charms as religous. If I moved to a country with strong beliefs in windchimes I would not use them so as not to stumble someone.

#62:) "Bad Association Spoils Usefull Habits" This is a Bible teaching all should consider. When deciding who we associate with we consider this principle. Many organisitions are connected to/involved in activities that Christians would not want to be connected to.

These are just a few of the mistatements I am addressing here. For more info you could check with your local Kingdom Hall or go to http://www.watchtower.org

In answer to the sadly mistaken woman ho mentioned us having "classes" we must study for. We do have public Bible studies. These are not tests. It is a public discussion. If you wish to comment comment, if you don't want to then you don't have to.

In response to the guy that said most Witnesses think Bethel is a City. WOW. I died laughing as this is one of the silliest lies about us I have ever read. I recently read someone say we cannot use Aluminum. It is a close second. Slander is anoying. But that lie was hilarious. I only hope no one would be trusting enough to believe that lie.

most seem true, but the "cannot be friends with nonJW" is, a little unbelievable. I have two friends, one an exJW and one a JW.

I've been told horror stories about the JW. A boy was molested by an elder. You know what happened? They dis-whatevered the boy for homosexual acts and the elder was shunned for a month but allowed back in with all his rights.

They are very strict, but from what I've been told it's more than strict at times and is down right brain washing. You have to read a section five times, along with the watchtower? And THEN you have to answer questions about it infront of a class.

As for the saving of souls, I was told it only had to happen once, before you became a full JW, a door to door trip to save souls. It happened to me once, they asked me who the Lord was and I almost retorted until I recognised the poor boy looking very embarissed behind his mother. So I answered "Jesus" took the pamphlet and immediately asked the woman to leave. I don't believe in Jesus. I'm very, very mouthy when it comes to Jesus but to save the boy embarassment I was willing to keep my mouth shut.

If it's a full group of adults I don't hold back and ask them to leave and if they refuse then I get mouthy.

Thing is Jehovah's main textbook that they live by is God's Word of truth.
The Bible when studied reveals much from Almighty God!
he is our 'Grand Instructor', as His word calls Him.
His word was recorded to give us instruction as Romans 15:4 says.
So many times in God's Word the Bible it encourages us to take in-- not just knowledge, but ---ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE. That tells us there is information that can be inaccurate.
We have clear scriptural guidance found in God's word the Bible , for what we believe, live, and adhere to.
You may have listed some 101 things here, I'm not saying they are all true, but what I am saying is, you obviously do not know the scriptures that support or stand.
As long as our actions are Bible based, and we have God's blessing, that's all that matters!
I can only encourage you to find Witnesses of Jehovah God to take the time to show you from the Bible (your Bible!) God's stand on the 101 things you listed.
As you took the time to list these 101 things, I hope you take the time to learn just what the Bible Really Teaches on each of the subjects you've mentioned and more!
God is a God who wants to be worshiped in 'Truth' as Jesus tells us at John 4:23,24.
We will all one indeed answer for the things that we believe, as regards worship of Almighty God.
The Apostle Paul under inspiration of Jehovah God wrote this at Philippians 1:9-11:
"And this is what I continue praying, that your love may abound still more and more with accurate knowledge and full discernment; that you may make sure of the more important things, so that you may be flawless and not stumbling others up to the day of Christ; and that you may be filled with righteous fruit, which is through Jesus Christ, to God's glory and praise."

The bible says not to use our freedom as an excuse for badness.

Most of these listed as 'can nots' are lies, or miss information, or direct quotes from the bible as to why all christians shouldn't do them.

Can you see Christ kick boxing?
Can you see Christ karate chopping someone?

Can you see Christ going into a temple of Baal?

Paul said Jesus was equal to Adam, why don't you believe him?

1 Cor 15:45 It is even so written: “The first man Adam became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

Rev 3:1-5, shows that a person's name can be erased from the book of life.

Paul said 'he that thinks he is standing beware he does not fall'

Jehovah told Abraham, Now I know you are a man of faith, after he offered his son Isaac.

Gen 22:12 And he went on to say: “Do not put out your hand against the boy and do not do anything at all to him, for now I do know that you are God-fearing in that you have not withheld your son, your only one, from me.”

Just because Jehovah can see into the future, he allows us free will to determine for ourselves.

Instead of listening to half truths, go to the source.

Not being able to serve in the military sounds to me like a great idea. If nobody was allowed to be in the military, we might very well have fewer wars.

I had a friend in school who was a Jehovah's Witness, so I'm not sure about the rest.

There are steps you can take to actually build a strong, stable marriage and avoid divorce. Read here https://tr.im/hQEuZ

Here are some key steps to apply to your marriage:

- Start by understanding and being informed.

You can never be too informed about tools, methods and studies about building successful marriages. Understand the risk factors like your age and maturity at marriage can determine how successful it will be, the anatomy of an affair and what you can do after infidelity. Understand the success factors like the personal and psychological circumstances that will influence your marriage, what are the tools and approaches available to you in dealing with conflict, and numerous other relevant data. All this information is readily available to you whether through self-help material, through a counselor, support group or other venues. In fact, we have made it our commitment to provide these to you in different formats to help you make the best marriage you can.

The thing is, remember, this is information is not available for you to begin hyper-psychoanalyzing your relationship, yourself and your partner. It's not a matter of spewing trivia for the sake of conversation ' information is there for you to ponder over and internalize to help you transform yourself and your marriage. That includes maturing to such a point that you become more competent in your knowledge but more prudent in approach.

Are there any Jehovah's witnesses on this site that can say whether it is true or not?

Do they actually follow these rules?
