no, they are not usually related (not under any normal circumstances)

when you die, it is typically because of things like heart failure, respiratory failure, etc. none of these things would affect the DNA in each of your cells. the DNA would be intact for a long time, even after the cells die and decompose, some of the DNA may stay intact for a long time

DNA is a molecule, so it isn't considered to be alive. The cell theory says that the basic unit of a living thing is the cell, so that's the smallest part of a living thing that is considered to be alive.

We usually consider a person to be dead when they don't have any brain activity.

DNA never lives or dies. Life is about the way how millions of cells organise themself and work seamlessly. Death is when the organization and interdependent working stops.

DNA is a chemical structure and like any other organics, decompose into Oxides of nitrogen, Carbon and water.

IT is never dead because it is considered to be a molecule.
If you don't believe me then think about this when some one dies and some other lady brings in her son and says that the person died was his father so he deserves his fortune.
So, how do you think they can get DNA after the person has died.

Cardiac death or brian death in no way mean that the other organs are not viable for transplant, which implies good DNA.
