My boyfriend and I have a long-distance relationship. With a plane it takes about an hour. I saw him last for the New Year, which we spent at his home town at his parents house and celebrated the New Year with his friends. I left his place about 2 weekends ago. I want to oraganise a new meeting but I am not sure if this is the right time to ask him? It's because he has been going through some stresses from work, he did not get promoted and since his boss has told him this on Wednesday, he has not been very happy. He has been cold and distant and he has been giving me all indications that he wants to be left alone. He told me today that he is sorry but he hopes that I understand. He told me today he misses me but he has not mentioned yet about our next meeting. We usually see each other once every month but sometimes I feel impatient and I press for planning our meetings. However, I would be the happiest if he came up to me and told me he wants to meet me. I find it hard to wait?

wow, you must really like him.... um, maybe you should just ask him to go to his favorite place and just hang out with the two of you, maybe that could be better for him. wish you the best.

I really feel for you, long distance relationships are so tough. phone communication can create such a lot of mis understanding. If he's not usually cold and distant on the phone it is probably all to do with not getting his job promotion. It's so difficult to express intimacy over a phone. I really believe that it's always best to be open and honest. perhaps you could gently express some of your concerns and ask him how he is feeling about things. It also sounds like you are wanting more contact, perhaps you could discuss this with him too. Even though expressing your needs and trying to understand your partners needs can be tough, it's impotant to explore otherwise frustrations and resentments can build up. if the relationship is worth it, then it can be worked through.
