Ido write poetry..
but they dont get my attention..sorry
I'd prefer him write something simple

I think you're trying to ask if poetry gets a girl's attention.. but I'm not too sure. So I'll just answer the question I think you're asking! Yes. Poetry would be nice to get from my guy.

Now, that all depends on the girl.
If she reads alot of good modern poetry like Naomi Shihab Nye for example, than she will probably be mightily impressed by a well written poem.
If she doesn't read any modern poetry, and isn't familiar with the genre, she would probably be more impressed by vapid and generalistic statements of overarching love, especially if she is young and inexperienced.

Not everyone can write poetry & lots of people like the whole sensitive side of other people.

yea it good i think if the poetry is good it can take some ones breath away but that is how i feel when some one reads me poetry.
