If the government could figure out how to control, package and tax it, it would have already been legal. But beig legal won't stop people from growing their own while tobacco can't be grown on your own with any reliability. The process is far too long and difficult.

Ignorance and Religon
plain and simple

people continue to die in high numbers every day by drunk drivers, alcohol prompts violence, and incredibly poor decision making, but yet it is completely acceptable by most of society.

The fact that the word drug is associated with it makes it scary to society. We should call alcohol a drug more often since it's more dangerous then pot anyways.

It does less damage than alcohol, but they act like it's a killer drug. Plus it makes people just not care as much.

stupid people... it won't hurt you. the government gets more money if it's illegal. think of it court costs, lawyers fee, (mostly court appointed) prisoner transport and of course it all comes out of one thing we read on the pay check stub; state taxes.
