...This is only according to many American non-Catholic Christians--Evangelicals, Fundamentalists, Baptists, "Born agains", etc....
So if there if 'stealing a penny' and being a multiple child rapist/torturer/murderer is about the same according to God--and your twisted beliefs.....
and there is only punishment for nonbelievers, and only reward for believers,
why would sinning or not sinning matter to either party?
Why do morals matter to you at all when you seem to state very clearly that they don't matter to God?

Joshua: Oh, but you must be so young and naive--or blind..! For there is NO such thing as immoral people ALWAYS reaping negative consequences for their actions! Haven't you ever taken a good look around? It's not true...at all. Evil people can go on to live happy, long fulfilling lives and NEVER pay for their evils...it happens ALLTHETIME>

Sin means disobedience. It is a category of behavior. In that sense, a sin is a sin is a sin. It is all within the category of disobedience.
What do you mean, no reward or punishment? Even on earth we suffer the results of our own actions. If you steal, you go to jail. Isn't that punishment? If you lie, you lose your credibility.
Each "sin" reaps a specific punishment. Each good act carries a specific reward. If you use your money wisely, you may become wealthy. If you give to charity, you will be respected. Isn't that reward?
It has nothing to do with "belief". These are laws which are carried out with or without our belief. It isn't that it doesn't matter to God. God is the designer of the system and the giver of the laws, but is not directly involved with the operations. He is detached from it. The system works automatically, just like a machine is working under the direction of a person, but does not require the person to manually move every part of the machine.

wow....how on earth did you come up with that claim? Either someone told you this in error, or you have misunderstood the Christian faith.
Living a moral life does matter, not for salvation sake, but it is the fruit, the evidence of one's salvation. You want to be a better person, because the love of Christ compels you.
Sin does matter. The penalty is death...eternal death.
God hates sin because it separates us from Him. He loves us and came up with a solution to take away our sin...Jesus.
But Jesus has defeated the power of sin, so anyone that believes in Him is not condemned.
One cannot live a sinful life and claim they follow Christ. You would be a liar, so sinning does matter to a Christian. It is something that has to be defeated daily. Some days you win, some days you don't, but all in all, you hate when you fall down.

It does matter to believers in God when we go to the great kingdom of God we will be judged of our sins. When you accept God in your heart you promise to serve him and share him with everyone. Now would it look good if a priest or pastor going around sleeping with everyone and murduring. No as Christians we are supposed to set examples for non believers and show them the glory of God. But make no mistake anyone can join the flock of God.

God is God no matter how you view Him. He is the perfect judge, and there is going to be a Judgment day. Sin is a sin is a sin, but of course there are different levels of sin.

Who said that???
------------------------
There is a huge difference between stealing $50 and killing 50 people.
Now if we rightly see that that is so, God who is omniscient and who sees everything as it really is, certainly would see that as well.
But his gradations of discrimination in judging various grades of good or evil would be infinitely finer than ours|
What lunch-bucket said that God sees all good the same and all evil the same?
That makes no sense at all|

non-Catholic Christians think that sin matters... only a few would think like you state. The Bible states that sin matters, and there are consequences in this life.

Moral values will determine the course of a country and its decay. This is where the US is headed. can you say third world country.
(Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(James 1:15) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
