It is tough to find good Mexican food in London. Try Green and Red 51 Bethnal Green Road E1 6LA - 020 7749 9670. This is the only Mexican restaurant in the 2007 Good Food Guide.

I can't recommend any others I'm afraid. though there are plenty of them. Most are cynical tourist traps. A few years ago an authentic one opened in Richmond and closed in less than year. It seems that London diners are expecting chimichangas and burritos and can't adjust to anything more authentic. If you are ever in America then you can fare better.....

It's been a while since I've been there, but as far as I could tell, there aren't any! I craved Mexican food so badly while I was there, and I know Mexican food, having grown up in Los Angeles and now living in San Francisco. There are plenty of good Indian and Pakistani places if your family is craving spicy ethnic food. If you MUST have Mexican food, there was only one place I found. It's called the Texas Embassy Cantina. It's terrible, on par with Chevy's, but it's as close as one can get in jolly old England.
