I have a hound beagle mix that I adopted from the shelter about a month ago. Her name is Chloe - she is fixed and very well mannered. Extremly obidient. She is a bit off around men becuase we think she was abused by a man until just before we got her. She is 2 years old but still acts like a puppy. She gets along with our cats and the neighbors dog but our apartment is proving just to small to keep her. She needs a yard to play fetch and run in. We need to have her gone within the next few days. Please speak up, I don't want to bring such a sweetheart back to the shelter.

Please note - this is not the only "AD" that I am putting up. This is one of many, I just want as many people to know about her as possible to find her a good home. She is a great dog, I am very sorry to see her go, but she can't stay here.

KJ - I did not lie to the shelter. I live in the city. The shelter is a block from where I live and they know my building. When I first adopted Clohe she was very quiet and timid - all she did was sleep, we all thought she was a perfect fit even though she is bigger than I was looking for. Since she has been with me I have cured her of the 8 different infections that she had...and she has a whole new personality...which unfortunatly does not match with small apartment life. Please do not make me out to be the bad guy - I am trying to do right by this dog, find her a happy life, and not take her back to the shelter where they will kill her.

DVM - do you really think that I would be living in an apartment if I had the option to move to a house?

I'm starting to get upset here. I am just trying to find a better home for a sweet dog than I can provide and I am getting chastised. Her personality fit here when she first came, little did we know she was very sick. I have spent a lot of money getting her 100% healthy again and just want to do better for her than I can provide. We all thought my home would work perfectly for her, but it turns out I am wrong. I don't want her killed back at the shelter so I am asking around everywhere I can think of, including here. IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN TAKING THE DOG PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER

I would contact the local chapter of the SPCA for assistance or find a NO KILL shelter. There is no way you can screen every person that shows an interest in your dog. You owe it to your little friend to find a place that can ensure a safe and healthy environment.

When you reminisce in the future about your dog - do you want to worry about whether she is safe and if you left her in caring hands?

Red flag here... Why do you need to have her gone in the next few days? Why the urgency? My guess is that there is some kind of problem with her... or your apartment isn't allowing the dog because of her size? destruction? Too loud? You could move to a house if she was really that good of a dog, and you loved her. Whats the honest reason here?

Put up posters in your area versus posting on here. That way you can actually meet the person and make sure your dog is going to a good home.

You should of made sure you could keep her for life BEFORE you got her. Too many people act like animals can be tossed around from place to place not caring if a animal gets depressed from being given away. Shame on you. Don't get a dog if you live in a apartment. Duh, you know dogs need to run around.

Um....you must have not told the truth to the shelter about where you live.

Sad. Give it away for FREE. Advertise by word of mouth ONLY so that at if you don't know the person you give her to at least one of your friends will.

Don't try to get any money. You made the mistake of adopting her.

It's too bad that people can't see the reality of what they do to these poor dogs.

I would take it back to the shelter. They are much more qualified to screen potential owners than you are. I'm sorry it didn't work out.
