I babysit/nanny the cutest little girl in the world.
She's a year and a half. And i watch her twice a week.
She's very very smart for her age, and is already talking in almost complete sentences. At 18 months. But i feel like she's getting bored, or maybe i am.
I need some ideas of games that are age appropriate, and things i can do with her.
Thank you, in advance.

she's too smart for her own good. But sh'e sso cute!. She knows all her body parts (nose, teeth, elbow, chin.. etc) she knows how to sing certains songs (including the alphabet, 5 little monkeys, twinkle twinkle)
I feel like i'm babysitting a two or even three year old sometimes. Lately we've been talking about babies, because her mommy is pregnant.
Thanks for the suggestions!

everythingpreschool.com is great - also look up preschool crafts and lesson plans online - read - FREE! a great publication is mailbox magazine - tons of songs, stories, anf fingerplays. This is the perfect age for songs and pre-reading - blowing bubbles and dumping things - check out these and other sites - also, mothers of preschoolers is an AWESOME website... enjoy!

now don't get me wrong cause i am sure this little girl is really smart but i teach preschool, 2 year olds in fact and they can not even come into my room if they do not know all the things your little girl knows. Some things that i would try are working with her on sensory. Painting with bubble wrap, ice cubes. Teach her about the weather. Have her work on her small muscles by tearing things. Work with her with lots of glueing and coloring. She know her colors already so she should be able to find pictures in a magazine of certain colors to make a collage. Most of all teach her social skills cause that is what is going to get her through life. Make sure you play alot of pretend games and ask her alot of questions with who what why where. If you have a teacher reasource center nearby i would suggest going in there for some ideas or there is a place through yahoo called kiddley that has alot of great crafts for kids. Hope that helps and i hope you have tons of fun with her.

I have a three year old and she was the same way. I was always searching for things to keep her busy, here are a few of the activities I found worked:
*Feeding the birds with pinecones: find pinecones outside and cover them with peanut butter and then roll them in birdseed. Make loops out of string/ribbon and hang them outside. You can do all that with the little one and it takes a while so it will keep her occupied. You can also do the same thing with pinecones, elmers glue and glitter and hang them inside.
*Make your own playdough. Everyone has real playdough now but its fun for kids to make some and color it themselves. All it takes is Flour, lots of salt and cream of tartar. divide and color with food coloring.
We always fingerpaint, play candy land if she knows her colors, cook/bake simple things with lots of involvement for her. There are also a lot of educational computer games that are inexpensive that kids that age are ready for like JumpStart. I know you are just the babysitter but if you buy the game and bring it with you but don't leave it there, she will look forward to seeing you.
Good luck!

teach her things like colors and what her body parts are (nose, ears, things like that). I knew a little girl that knew all her colors and body parts before she was 2, and I think she even knew letters and numbers, but not how to count or the whole alphabet yet. oh, and animals and their sounds too. use pictures/books and you will both have fun.

I always start with offensive so I wear the little buggers out instead of the other way around. How about something with nature? Bring the props.
