10-15%. Anything more is idiotic.

I usually double the sales tax and round up to the next dollar. Provided we have gotten decent service.
So I guess 15-20% is how it works out. But I do expect good service, my son worked as a waiter and made about $30 -50 and hour in tips. People who earn that kind of money should work hard. That is more then many college graduates make.

just double the sales tax, and round off to the nearest dollar (about 20%), 25% if really good service, always over tip for breakfast 30% or so, always be friendly, I don't even care if the service is that great, just be a semi-pleasant waiter/ waitress, I know the job is tough, I'm NOT gonna bust ya chops being picky, just a straight forward easy order will come your way, I work too, i know how "Charming" the public can be.

I always double the tax and add up to the next whole dollar. Now, I do sometimes take into consideration when restaurants go ahead and put their OWN tip in, which I feel is quite rude and presumptuous so in those cases I do not add any additional tip.

10-25% of your bill. You tip on service. If you had excellent service I would tip 20-25%, Okay service 10-15% and bad service nothing. I use to be a server and if I have a server who doesn't do their job than why should I tip them for nothing but if they are good and do their job than I'm more than willing to tip them very well! You be the judge.

15-20% is the average across the board amount. It doesn't matter what restaurant it is...you tip according to the amount of your bill.
Also, in many of the "nicer" restaurants, the 15% gratuity is already included in the bill, so make sure you check it to keep from overpaying.

The most standard is 15%. That is the appropriate, but mmany people tip 10%.
Tipping is optional.
Don't tip if the service is not good. But, traditionally, waitresses make very little money. So, they appreciate your tips. 15% is the old-fashioned tried and true standard.

I typically tip 20% ish--not to the penny. I would tip way less if the server stunk. If it was breakfast, I would tip more than 20% becasue I think those waiters get cheated cause the meal is so cheap, their tip is also, but they still work just as hard.

20% on the assumption the service is acceptable. the folks serving don't make that much so every little bit helps. if the service sucks, I've been known to pay the check & leave $0 tip.

u generally tip 20% and anything over that is your discretion, but thats the minimum. it used to be 15% a few years ago but it has officially gone up. and of course for groups 8 or more is a Lil bit more, about 25%.

10 to 15 percent for average service. More if you received special attention.
