It can be cold in the room he is sleeping in and he still gets sweaty. Is it a normal thing, or could it be an illness? I live in Oklahoma. I've heard allery's/asthma could cause it, but I need more advice. I think I will take him into the doctor whenever this ice storm clears up. Help with my sweaty lil guy!

Oh i forgot to mention he doesn't sleep under a blanket. He wont have it. I dress him in long sleeve/pant pajamas. It doens't get too warm in the room. To me actually it's quit cool. Thx for the replies so far btw!

I have a sweaty baby too. He also hates being warm. You know the rule that babies should be wearing on more layer than you, with mine it is one less. He hates blankets and if I put one on when he is sound asleep he usually wakes very overheated.
His daddy is a sweaty man too. He wakes up every morning with a wet pillow (some from drool but mostly head sweat), sometimes the sheets and blankets are soaked too.
By all means consult a doctor if you are concened. However, in my experience sweating is fine and allergies don't generally cause sweating. (Teething does though)

Lol, I have a 'little furnace' too...he started this when he was 14 months...you can dress him in just a diaper in the middle of winter and he'll still sweat...lol...he will sleep with a blanket, but by morning, it's under the bed...if you take a nap with him on the couch, you feel like you just got hit with a water balloon...unless he's acting funny, sick, or the like, I wouldn't worry about it...I know it's something that runs on his Dad's side of the family, and in the men on my side of the family...our doctor told us, as long as he's happy, he'll be fine...

It's not an illness. Everyone's tempratures go up during sleep especially in babies. That is why babys will kick their covers off and why toddlers will remove their pjs during the night, they get hot...it's perfectly "normal". The best thing is to not "overdress" the child for bed. a tee and diaper is probably all he needs or a "onesie". I lived in Central New York when my daughter was born in January all she wore to bed was a diaper and a tee shirt or a onesie...somehow managed to live to be 21 years old on Sunday.

My youngest is a bed sweater, so is my husband and his mother. My husband will be freezing but sweating when he's asleep. I just try to keep the room cool and a cotton blanket that's breathable. No heavy quilts or comforters.

My 3 year old does the same thing. He is just really hot natured.
There is probably nothing wrong but it may help calm your nerves by calling and talking to his doctor.

Do you dress him too warm at nite? You should consult his pediatrician about this. That is what they're there for!!!
