i have a cockatiel who is about 6 months old (male.) He just recently got sick. we were told to put all the perches out of the cage. We give him fresh food and water everyday. he seems to be better, but his head is really wobbly and his balance is unstable, but better than it was. he's only been sick about 3 days. he is eating and drinking water. could he have broken his neck or something? thankyou!!!

This bird needs to see an AVIAN VET NOW!!! Birds can die quickly from being sick. They hide it until they are extremely ill.

PLEASE take your bird to an avian vet!

Hi. I'm sorry for your problem. His neck is fine if he can eat and drink. Broken necks generally mean quick demise. He may have an infection and the vet will prescribe antibiotics. As you know already keep his environment warm. Let us know the outcome. I wish you the best.

First----Whenever you get a new bird it should be quarantined as far away as possible from your other birds to prevent spreading disease for 4-6 weeks. Second-------Your birds should not be thrown together but introduced slowly. Third------They may not be compatible Give them separate cages for a while

Sound like hes had a stroke

Give him calpol sugar free 2+months

I give my birds some calpol in their water once a week makes them better.
If they are not well I give it to them everyday

You better give him calpol everyday to make life more comfortable for him.
