I was adopted when I was 9 months. My adopted parents say that my mom was a young teenager when she had me so she wanted to give me a better home. My mom also told me that my biological mom wanted to take me back after she had a job and a place to live and was capable to taking care of me. But my adopted dad was against it so. I was just wondering how do i find her? I have my original birth certificate and it doesn't have her name on it. It has my adopted parent's name and i don't know why that is because my mom's name should be on it. I don't know if they did that for privacy reasons for my mom or what? But I just don't know how to find her with only knowing where I was born at and the hosptial.

If you were adopted by an adoption agency, then you could contact them, and if your mom has something on file stating she would want to have contact, then they will give you the information.

Go back to the adoption agency and request to see your file. Most agencies (especially state agencies) create what is called an adoption file. This has all of the information about you and your family. If you were taken into state custody before being adopted through an agency, I would recommend contacting Family Services and asking them for any information that they might have. If you go back to the agency (state or private) ask them if they are involved with Family Finding. This is something that is usually done for children in foster care to find at least 40 other family members. One of those family contacts might be able to help you contact your mom. You have a lot of resources so stay positive.

Good luck in your search.

Your adoptive parents will have to go to their county court house and file a petition asking the courts to order that your state office of Vital Records issue you a copy of your original "sealed" birth certificate.

When you were adopted, your true original birth certificate was locked away and replaced with a new one showing your adoptive parents names. You can get the original back with a court order. That truly is the only way.

First of all, you need to cotact the agency your adoption went through, and then post on as many registries as you can(adoption.com) The info you get back also depends on the state that you were adopted in. I am also an adoptee, and have been searching for 11 yrs. There are many groups out there to help your search as well. Look on yahoo groups. Have you tried a search Angel? Good luck in your search!

i dont think this is your original birth certificate. adoptees usually have 2, the first one has the birth parents name (at least mums) then another is issued for the adopted parents as the name of the child could change, talk to your parents in more depth and question this.
