Besides my basic classes, I want to know what classes will prepare me for becoming a neurologist.

Lots of schools have a neuroscience major. If not try whatever "pre-med" majors are available. Either way you'll have to go on to med school, which doesn't require any specific major, so really you can pick what you want for now--those majors will just help to prepare you early.

For your bachelor's degree you want to take the classes required in the pre-med program. You also may want to consider psychology. The neurologists usually focus on the biological factors in a person's brain disorders, but it wouldn't hurt to know some psychological theories.

if you want to be a neurologist, you better choose a good premed course.. physical therapy would be a good choice since they discuss anatomy quite extensively..

then you have to qualify and enroll in a medical school.. during your first year, you must understand anatomy (with neuroanatomy), biochemistry and physiology.. then, you will have a neurology subject.. you have to listen and study well.. you also have to be good in internal medicine and radiology since in neurology, you get to see lots of ct scans and mris..

then enter the world of residency.. i dont know where you're from but here in my country, neurology residents either start as medical residents then subspecialize in neurology or take up the straight neurology program...

if you really are planning to be a neurologist, you should befriend your anatomy subject especially lessons dealing with the brain and the nerves..

To be a neurologist you will need to go to medical school after your undergraduate work. then after that you will have to do an internship and residency. Different medical schools have diffreent requirements (aside from the typical biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics and calculus)

You will have to go to graduate school and you will take your more specific classes there. The important thing as an undergrad is to get good grades. Pick a major that is in the biological sciences and take the easiest classes you can to get good grades.

First you need to take all the basics. Have you been accepted into a medical school? Once you are, you will have to see a counselor and see what they offer. It's hard to say. All colleges are different.

Take Psychology if you get the chance. It was probably my favorite class in college thus far! Good luck!!!

ONLY what's rqrd at the institution you plan on attending. Visit their website, get a contact number for the department, call it and they will advise you on what you need to take.

You should really be asking your advisor about this. Establish a relationship with him/her. That's your best bet!
