It is not possible to have a temporal peace on Earth as long as sin exists. Any attempt would be a "forced" peace; for example, the UN putting a "peace force" in every country of the world, much like the ancient Romans, who would rule by terror and all who spoke out against them would be killed. You would have an artificial "peace" then, but only because people would be too afraid to speak!
The existence of sin means that evil will continue, and therefore peace is impossible by Man's own efforts. However, after Christ returns and destroys all sin and sinners, there will be true peace, because everyone will be on the same sheet of music, so to speak.

Well, it depends what kind of peace you are talking about.

The beauty pageant contestants' favorite answer, "world peace" is so inconceivable in today's world. How could the peace that the United States is experiencing right now (believe me, to some degree, this is peaceful) possibly be the same level of peace that one might hope to experience in another country (say, a Middle Eastern country in the midst of a religious schism or war)?

There can be peace; the level of that peace, however, will vary.

There is only peace on earth. People just don't live in reality because of a case of mistaken identity.

there are two types of peace, one is Man`s idea of peace that is no more than a certain period without wars, the other is true peace that can only come from God,and if the whole world was faithful to Him then we would experience a peace that would be incredible.

no, it is impossible to have permanent peace on earth, we will only have true peace on earth when the prince of peace Jesus Christ comes back and sets up his kingdom. there has probably in all of documented mankind there has probably only been around 300 years of peace total but it never last.

Humans naturally have enmity for each other and see themselves and their beliefs as better than all others. For there to be peace on earth, the whole world would have to be one non-religious country.

As long as divisive personalities like Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter have a place in the public forum, nope.
