Sure Aussies should be an outside dog idealy (with a shelter in case of rain snow etc).. and they are of good temprement in general.... They do idealy need something to heard though thats thier business.. as to the person who said why have a dog if you leave em outside all the time.. Hmm some dogs do lousey indoors.. and dont like it either.. boarder collies, Aussies, and great pyreenes come to mind... it depends on what they were bred for and what they are used to.. some dogs just dont make good indoor pets.. nor do they wanna be given the choice.. others do ... (my Pom for instance, is great indoors and Prefers it The aussie is lousey indoors (though well behaved.. he only comes in if its thundering or gunshots are fired.. which dosent bother the pom at all... and prefers the outside)

They can do fine as long as you play with them and pay attention to them every day. They are herding dogs. I know people who keep them in the barn to gaurd their animals out there. Just make sure it has plenty of hair in the winter and a bed to lay on out of the cold. During the summer make sure it has plenty of shade and you might want to shave it, if it's really hot. I prefer to keep my dogs in the house most of the time, though, especially at night.

That is about the most intelligent breed there is so it takes alot to keep them entertained. They are alot like malimutes in nature. very friendly but working dogs so if it gets out of containment it will run. But ok outside.

Yes, they are a working/herding breed and are fine outside, as long as they are not left to themselves. Companionship of another dog is good, and plenty of attention and training from their master..

Im sorry, Ive never understood why you have a dog if you make it stay outside at all times.. do you have bad winters there? hot summers? if so thats so sad. : ( let alone weather, theres bugs to bite him all day, no comfy place to lay,... aww

Why dont you find a better home for the dog, somewhere that he doesnt have to stay outside in the hot or cold..

Why mistreat a second animal? Fix the living conditions of your first dog.
