I would consider myself an atheist, as i reject all the trdaitional arguments for the existence of God. For example, I reject the Design Argument, because I accept Darwin's evolutionary theory.
Furthermore, I feel that the problem of evil and suffering (If god knows about suffering, is loving and has the power to stop it why doesn't he?) is not explained away by free will (divine intervention in the form of miracle interfere's with this) or that God has some amazing plan we cannot comprehend.
Also, I feel the concept of God plays to our deepest hopes and fears. "God" explains away all our problems, and answers the most troubling questions we're faced with: What if there is nothing after life? What if there is no purpose for my existence? Wouldn't it be nice if there was a God who could solve all my problems?

I am. I only had to read the Bible to know I cannot believe in such an immoral deity. I never heard of the Easter Bunny or Santa threatening eternal damnation to anyone for not believing in them.

I'm an atheist. Lance was right. But some people need religion to get through life. So my answer is that some people can grow out of god...some can't.

I don't like to call myself an atheist, mostly because it has been demonized by the religious. Instead I say that I am completely unreligious.
I don't hate religion or religious people. I just refuse to believe that there is a supreme being that gives a **** about whether I worship correctly and is willing to burn me in hell for all eternity if I don't.
I don't think god is something you should grow out of, I just think that people have to choose between being realistic about life or continue believing that there is someplace better than here and that they deserve to get there.

Yup. I am. I think humanity should've grown out of the need for a "supernatural explanation" a long time ago, but we live in a demon-haunted world (the demons being our ignorance, irrationality and fear) and the myriad of god concepts were always instramental in chasing away our "demons" and making us feel safe and comfortable.
People love to be comfortable, to be reassured, to cling to purpose. Religion and the god concept (yes, I know these are two different things) are quite adept at enabling these "needs" by validating them and then stepping forward as "the answer".

We are all born Atheists. When we are children we may be exposed to the concept of god by our parents and willingly accept it because it shields us from dealing with questions of our mortality. A normal mind, unless brainwashed or denied education will outgrow it along with Santa Claus.

Yup, I'm an atheist. Not because of "bad things happening" but because all the gods I've researched conflicted with "reality."

Absolutley. What good is this god, anyway? Where IS he? Would you allow that much suffering to go on in the world to your "children that you love SO MUCH"? Christianity is a JOKE and more people are coming to their senses than ever before. Good!
