Is it possible that God created the heavens and the earth through evolution, or is that just too simple? Maybe it is an example of Achems Razor...

Evolution is not incompatible with God. It refutes literal Biblical Creationism.

OCCAM'S Razor is difficult to apply. Is God very simple or very complex?

Aethist here -

Can i admit we do not yet know the unknown uncaused first cause? yes. does that mean with out a doubt it must be a deity who directly created everything? no.

Evolution does not need god to justify it. Intellegent design(aka creationism) does. ANY hybrid of the two undermines science. To make a hybrid science requires proof of god, god cannot be proven true ( or false for that matter, but what doesn't exsist is hard to pin down to not exsist) - so the matter dies there on the floor.

The existence of the universe was not brought about by evolution (that's mixing biology and cosmology). Evolution also says notyhing about the general idea of a god. The Abrahamic god, however, is not even presented coherently within the texts of those traditions, much less do these texts stand up to science.

I beleive exactly that - God is responsible for evolution. That theory bothers a lot of Christians though because it conflicts with Biblical accounts of creation.

I'm all for peace & harmony, getting along & all that, but I believe that mankind was created in God's image & I just can't picture God as an ape.
