Most dogs will do this. There are pills at PetSmart that keep dogs from eating poop, sorry, I forget the name of the pills.
You can also scold her every time you catch her just like you would any other behavioral problem, which I'm sure you've tried. Just keep trying and be patient.
If you have a open litter box, buy one with the tops that the cat has to climb into. If you have a closed cat box, or if you can't catch her in the act, try to put up a make-shift cat flap over the litter box hole.

First of all, at three months old, your puppy should be supervised at all times. Shes learning to be housebroken, and whats acceptable behavior. Train her right from the start, dont wait for her to develop bad behaviors and then have to fix them later. But on to your question, I have a cat poop seeking dog myself, and prevent her from eating the feces with a hooded litter box. The box is completely covered and there is a hood that extends over the front of the box, so to get into it the cat has to go under the hood and up over the side of the cat box. I also have a Booda Dome cat box. Its a round cat box, the cat goes up this little hallway and around into the box. Unless you have a very small dog this will work to keep the dog from eating the poop. The only way it could fail is if the dog knocks the box over. Both of these worked 100% for me. Check out petco.com for a picture of the Booda Dome. If your dog is small you can use a baby gate, most cats can easily leap a small gate, while your dog will have a harder time with it. Whichever route you choose to go, Im sure that your cat will appreciate having his privacy back. Good Luck!

A LOT of dogs like "kitty roca" as we call it. About all you can do is either gate off (with a baby gate) the room you have the litter box in (kitty can jump the gate, presumably doggie can't) or raise it onto a higher surface like a table where kitty can jump to but doggie can't. Having a litter box on a table isn't very appealing, so I opt for the gate.
Eating it isn't going to hurt her much (I say this cuz my dogs constantly eat it and they're fine)... BUT... if you use a clay litter, that could cause problems if she injests too much of it. She could also get some types of worms, etc if your cat has (or gets) them.
My dog eats DOG poop too... and bunny poop. Basically, if it's not HER poop, it's free game. GROSS. I've tried supplements, additives, hot sauce, cayenne, EVERYTHING. I've asked her vet too. Apparently it's just a fact of doggie-life.

For some reason dogs LOVE cat turds. I would be concerned about using clumping litter, as it can collect in the digestive tract and cause future problems. Maybe use a biodegradable or "safe" litter, just in case. In the meantime you can try using a dog deterrent spray (get it at a pet store) and spray it around and on the box. Oh and don't let her give you any kisses!

No, dogs are just silly, we left our dogs alone for a little bit in their room, and their litter box was in there cage along with their crate. We come home and litter is all over the place, so it happened again, and we caught them jumping off of their crate into the litter box, like it was a freaking high dive at the olmpics or something, it was funny at first, but a mess to clean up. Your dogs are alright, they are just silly, and bored probably.

My six month old puppy is doing the same thing. I use the clumping cat litter so I just keep trying to clean out the clumps before she gets to it.

Put up a gate that the cat can climb over to get to the box.
