It works OK, providing momentary relief, but it doesn't solve problems. Don't worry about it, unless you thnk you might really hurt yourself (i.e. more than just bruising).

Doug,

Yeah, it's a way to deal with things.....for the moment, I mean.....but in the long run it probably does not do much lasting good.

So.....maybe you could think about looking into some ways to deal with things that might bring more long term relief ??

Because it's not like your body needs to be punisihed......it's probably more like you need to look a little deeper into why you feel so crappy about yourself.

I mean, I don't know you, but even so, chances are that you....as a person....are probably not nearly as unacceptable as current situations are causing you to feel.

So......the counselling thing ?? Those folks job is to help people try and make sense of themselves, and of why they find themselves feeling as they do about stuff.

If you are at school, they probably have a counsellor you can see for free ?

You could give it a try....and see for yourself if the person seems to have anything of help to offer ??

Because in the long run, "using words" as a way to deal with your feelings is a lot more likely to help things over the long run than just being mean to your body.

Hang in there, OK ??
