I think unity is about much more than one church. My concept of unity is that we are all of the same soul if you will. Animals, plants, people, everything. We all came from the Earth, we all die, we are all connected. Life is what seperates us.

it means that there are no separations by class, race, or anything else. A Muslim is a Muslim, is a Muslim no matter what. Not like Christianity with so many different sects...Catholics, Protestant, Lutheran, Calvinist, Methodist, Baptist ect. Even though for some reason, Sunni and Shi'a are around, along with the Salifis and such, there is still no separation. There isn't supposed to be. And racism to Islam is completely outrageous, and looked at as a lame and inhumane excuse for arrogance and sometimes self- hate. That is also the Unity Islam speaks of. All this fighting in Sudan, Ethiopia, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, it is all senseless nonsense, not to mention quite shameful, considering our envied and fascinating past. How can u be a racist Christian? It is an oxymoron, and that is why Islam is the most diverse religion in the world. I can guarantee u can find a person in the Islamic world with all types of backgrounds. Islam encourages the mixing of ethnic backgrounds, as to unsure no racism creeping into society. At a masjid in the United Sates, England, and France, u can find at least one of every type of person from any country, and background, and position, and any status standing side-by-side in prayer. Not just for a holiday or a pilgimage, u can find this everyday, and mainly Friday's. Millions and millions of Muslims from ALL walks of life flock to Mekka, Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj every year, for 1428 years to pray and purify themselves, the highest concentrated amount of people traveling for a religious purpose. now THAT's Islamic unity.

Unity is not exclusive to chistianity. There are many who stand together in unity... like gay rights activists, the allies in WWII, and people who unite despite differences in beliefs in order to achieve something for the common good of humankind. Unity can include being respectful to those who believe differently than you, or that you don't even like.

Unity isn't about a group of people having the same set of "beliefs", that's the tribal mentality. True unity is "knowing" our oneness with God.
