Totally normal!
It should swell some because the body isnt used to having anything stuck in it, and it might bleed and crust over- but it shouldn't be extrodinarily *painful*. If it is, go back to your piercer IMMEDIATLY. Its probably infected, just make sure not to agitate it and do your salt soaks like your supposed to.

initially, regardless of the reality that i'm confident you already understand universal piercing care from those you had already, you may no longer understand that is diverse for any piercing interior the mouth, lip protected. you're meant to rinse with a sea salt/water mix after anytime you eat or drink something yet water for the first few weeks. Our mouths are disgusting places finished of germs, so all those piercings are some distance more effective liable to an infection, and quick onset of it, than maximum different sorts. Even genital piercings are a lot less affected. i understand, that is weird and wonderful. The ice and ibuprofen are high-quality, yet make confident you're not any further getting something stuck in it both. previous that, that is regularly occurring to have a honest quantity of swelling with a lip piercing, actually more effective than with the different piercings you've suggested. i'll't say yours is doing ok without searching at it, yet i'll claim from adventure that mine did an same sinking into the lip concern. It easily has made one of those everlasting little indented circle on the interior my mouth around the hollow. i became instructed that folk with very tender flesh can get that, and that isn't any longer a very undesirable project regularly occurring, presented it would not get contaminated. make confident you save spinning it, no longer with dirty fingers, and save rinsing. If the swelling would not bypass down or receives worse after some days, or the different indications of plausible an infection ensue, i might want to likely take it out.

Completely normal.
Everyones body reacts in different ways to the initial piercing. When I got my lip and monroe done, my lips swelled up and after about 6 days, it went down. Just keep it clean, don't play with the lip and try not to bite it and you'll be fine.

You just had a bolt of metal shot through your lip. Of course it hurts, and its natural for open wounds to swell. If the swelling doesn't go down within 5 days, or if you do develop an infection (pussing, etc.) though, I'd get it looked at.

YES!!! You're just fine....piercings usually do swell for about 2 weeks after the piercing process...and a little redness is common. Just continue to follow the aftercare instructions your piercer gave you, and your well on your way to a healthy recovery. now if the bleeding and pus show up, then you should go see your piercer.

It should be fine but if the swelling doesn't go away in like 3 to 5 days then you should probably get it looked at.

if it doesnt hurt too bad its ok. the swelling should only last 24 hrs, if it lasts longer talk to the piercer, u might be allergic to the jewlery. keep cleaning it incase its the start of an infection
