You don't absolutely HAVE to have flowers, it's just a traditional thing to do. Plus it makes for nice decor. You have bouquets for yourself and your bridesmaids, and also can have flowers up by the altar and as centerpieces at your reception. You could skip them for the reception and just do candles or something else instead. I wouldn't forgo them for the ceremony though...it's a little awkward to walk down the aisle carrying...nothing.

Flowers are certainly not a requirement for your wedding and are normally just decorative. However, in recent years brides have been increasingly using silk flowers for centerpieces and then will give them away to important members of the wedding party or to family members, out of town guests, etc. You'll get 2 bangs for your buck if you use them as decoration and gifts at the end of the event.

Nope - you don't need flowers at all. That's purely a decorative choice and holds no religious or civil meaning in regards to the wedding, any more than dressing up, having attendants, inviting others, having a party afterward, cake, etc do.

All you need for a wedding is a willing bride, a willing groom and a willing officiant to make the wedding formal and legal. All the rest is fluff and decoration.

Flowers are a good, inexpensive way make your wedding look nice.

You can do a very simple bouquet with all the same flowers or just have a variety bouqet with different flowers that compliment each other.

You don't "need" them, but they are nice to have and traditionally used. Generally they are used for bouquets and to decorate the altar. Lots of people skip them for the reception centerpieces, and just use candles or another option because they are so expensive. If you don't want them, don't use them. However, if you are just worried about costs, you could just use them for the bride and flower girl, and decorate some other way. It is also cheaper to use petals rather than fresh flowers.

A wedding is what you want it to be, there should be no rules, but also your local craft stores will already made flowers that are much cheaper if you are worried about the cost.

I agree with the first answer..there is also the option of silk flowers and petals which are cheaper and come in a lot of colors..Thats probably what I'll use..I have a great sight for the petals if you need it.

as others have said - the flowers are mostly for decoration & to give you something to do with your hands.
alternatives to bouquets are fans; parasols; small handbags

No, they are just an optional decoration.
