Just make sure that she eats healthy foods that are high in fat and carbs, such as porridge, nuts, avocados, milk, cheese, sandwiches, rice and pasta etc
It's good that she is interested in eating healthy but many peoples misconception is that eating healthily means living on lettuce and carrots, a view which is not helped by authorities who are aiming their education mostly at overweight people.
I am underweight too and I know that if I followed schools and governments advice I would melt away, they advocate eating the least amount of fat and calorie rich foods but if you are naturally underweight then you need to eat fat and calorie rich foods to maintain your weight.

Man, you're lucky your kid has taken to eating a healthy balanced diet. My four year old won't eat anything but bread, tofu, and kiwis this month. A few weeks ago she ate forty bananas over the course of a week. Kids pick up such weird eating habits. At least your kid has a weird eating habit that isn't really weird and will be beneficial if she sticks to it for good. Maybe after a while you'll feel inclined to follow in her good example.
Don't compare her to other kids her age, especially considering that those averages are calculate based on weights of children who are not your daughter, don't share her genes, and will never grow at the same rate she does.

My sister was underweight when she was a bit younger than your daughter. I think she was around five. Anyhoo my mom went to the doctor and he told her to feed her fattier foods, so we started going to McDonalds. NOT A GOOD IDEA! It's great that your daughter is eating healthy now because this will set her up for a healthy lifestyle. I would only be worried if it looked like she didn't have enough energy or if she felt self-conscious of her body. And if she wasn't comfortable with her body, then I would suggest talking with her more to make her realize how great she is. Good luck!

If she eating healthy she may lose some weight. But growth spurts don't just involve weight but also height. My little boy lost some weight but got taller the health visitor said that that can often happen

Schools are dangerous places when it comes to teaching about food. they tend to simplify too much. "Unhealthy food" is a classic example - there is no such thing. There is only food which should be comsumed inlimited quantities. A 8 year old cannot possible be expected to judge that. She NEEDS fats, and whole milk, and eggs, and dairy - in the right quantities - just as much as she needs fruit, vegetables and proteins. Hide them if you have to.

i can understand your concerns but as long as she's eating it's good, especially as she's eating healthily. take her to the docs for your own piece of mind if it helps. she'll hate being under weight when she's older if it carrys on.
my son has the oposite problem which brings just as many worry believe me.
good luck.

I hate schools doing this!!! My kids are autistic and have a very limited diet and I could have killed the dentist who told them yoghurt was bad for the teeth - it was the only way to get the sleeping tablets inside them!!!
If I was you I would have a chat with her and explain a little of everything in moderation does you good.
