Power is such a necessity I know it's stressful for you. Did you call the business office and explain that you would like to pay your bill in installments not all at once? Hopefully they will work with you until you get on your feet. Not knowing your situation it's hard to know what to suggest. You can call the Salvation Army or Red Cross and ask if they can help you in some way. There are many charities look in your phone book and see if one of them can give you some help. Call the power company first and I hope they will work something out with you.
Best of luck,

Sometimes local churches will help. Also the Salvation Army and some counties have help- especially when it is cold outside. I try to give to these charities when I can because they do a lot of good for ppl.
P.S. If you have kids you could contact your power company. Sometimes you can get a letter from your Dr. telling them that your child must have electricity.

Call your local Red Cross...They've helped me several times. They'll pay up to $150.00. Also most cities have organizations to help people. Call your local Dept. of Human Services for phone numbers.
A lot of churches will help too.
You might also call your electric co. Ask about levelized billing.
Hope this helps. I know how you feel.
Cut her some slack guys...Sometimes people have problems you know.

Then how is your computer working?
Social Services has programs that can help. Look in the Government section of the phone book.

The power company should have an assistance plan for those who cannot afford their bills.
