I agree 110% so many christians are made to look like evil ones because others, who call themselves christian, do bad deeds. we will know the true ones soon enough.

I've posted that kind of question before, as a Christian. I got some amazing responses too.
"Awwww, shucks"
lol.
My friends know me to be a Christian, they respect that. Many have come to the lord because of that.
I don't force people to believe, God convinces. I just love them and pray for them, that's the whole point. God convicts us.
I will say, however, that there are far more ignorant ones, and here's why:
12 true disciples could change the world, 2000 years ago, without TV or modern forms of communication. How? Faith, love, hope, and being real with people.
Now, 2.1 billion 'Christians' can't even change a city.
Not saying no one is, but we have SO MUCH more potential... the bible says we can do BETTER things than what Christ did!
We can raise people from the dead!
I haven't done it personally, but I believe it. And, God willing, one day I'll have the faith and strength to be that kind of Christian, an emissary of God, a miracle-worker for his glory, not mine.
I've never seen a non-christian ask this question.
Applause to you.
:D

Real Christians
One of the most frustrating aspects of conversing with Christians has to do with the definition of the term Christian itself. It's easy for anyone to point the finger at the history of Christianity and show its atrocities…the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Nazis… But it is equally easy for someone else to say, "They weren't True Christians."
Now just what do you say to that? (If you're smart, you say nothing and walk away. But I'm not always smart.)
It seems that every Christian has their own definition of what it means to be a Christian. Silly me, I always thought a Christian was one who worshipped Jesus Christ as his/her savior. But to listen to some people, there's far more to it than that. Now, they can't come to an agreement on what those things might be, but they all insist that anyone who doesn't fit their special little definition isn't a Christian. The bible itself isn't clear on the subject, either. But then, the bible is full of contradictory passages, so this should be no surprise.
Some examples of the modern Christian's perspectives... I know of no Christian who accepts that Hitler and the Nazis could possibly have been Christian, despite Hitler's many speeches and writings, despite his words to friends, and despite the vocal beliefs of many of his followers. Similarly, groups like the KKK "aren't Christian," either, even though they constantly refer to Jesus. Catholics? No, they're not True Christians, according to many Protestants. And vice versa.
I've been told that the behaviors of some "supposed" Christians aren't in keeping with the Scriptures, which teach forgiveness, love, and kindness, blah blah blah…
Well, the thing is, some biblical writings do teach such behavior. However, the "good book" is also full of actual examples of the opposite, and from "godly" men, too. Overall, it's a situation of "do as I say, not as I do." And we all know how well that works.
If one were to approach someone described as not being a "real" Christian, they'd insist that they are as "real" as they come. And in their minds, they probably are. So what point is really made by saying they aren't? It's simply a way to dismiss them, to write them off as being pretenders. But that doesn't change the fact that they are, whether one likes it or not, a representative of their professed beliefs. They may not be representative of the best aspects of said belief, but few people are, no matter the beliefs.
To my way of thinking, if you call yourself a Christian, and believe yourself to be a Christian, then it doesn't matter a bit if others think you're Christian or not. It's just a situation of some Christians not wanting to accept that Christians can be scum, just like anyone else.
ive heard this argument before, how about i just close my mind and lump all of you together, like im comfortable with doing, and then put you, all on the hell or destroy list, if youre not ok with that then stop saying stupid things like true and false christians.

I am a born-again Christian. Yes, I mess up. We all do. But I say I'm sorry where it is required and I try to make things better. I try not to judge people, and I don't go threatening them with Hell. I love those around me, even the ones that do not believe in God. I'm a little tired of people bashing Christians, but I am tolerating it, hoping that maybe something I say will lead them closer to God.

The Bible tells us we will know them by their love. I have met a lot of people claiming to be christian, that does not make them one. The proof is in the Godly love they have. When do you see or "feel" the love? When you meet them. When I meet a true christian, I know them by their love. I never understood this Biblical saying until I actually met a true christian and knew what the love felt like. True love tells you the truth, even if it might hurt you. If I'm being a nag and my husband tells me, you're being a nag, I may feel hurt but when I think about what I'm saying or doing, he is right. That is love!

We can all get hypocritical at a moments notice.
The easiest way to avoid that sin is to teach our faith by setting an example rather than by attempting verbal persuasion. Our faith needs to make such a difference in our lives that Atheists can no longer claim that our faith is just the fear of dying and going to Hell.

Im not sure what other's think of me, some think Im hypocritical merely because I am a Christian. I dont feel that I am, if I say everyone sins, its because I know everyone sins, including myself. I dont think my sins are more or less "sinful" than someone elses. I dont think I am better than anyone else either. I dont tell people they are going to hell... I dont want anyone to go to hell.. so maybe Im not hypocritical and some non-christians are just prejudice themselves?
I dont know, its hard to figure out what we (Christians) are "allowed" to do to be acceptable to others.

I always find it interesting how Christians are the only ones who actually post on Yahoo Answers about you need to love Jesus. I don't see Buddhists trying to convince the audience to believe in Buddha.
It almost makes me ashamed to BE Christian.
