In some churches like the Pentecostal Holiness.?

Do you bealive all that shouting and speaking in tongues could just be a sexual frenzy brought on by overwrought emotions? Like some of those teenage girls at the beetle concerts back in the seventies? Before you answer have you ever watched those people when they get the spirit?

Under hypnosis people can be made to speak in tounges. In these Pentacostal churches people go into a self induced transe-like state and start uttering absolute gibberish. It is total nonsense and has nothing to do with the 'holy spirit' It is a regression to a primitive mental state where instinctive behaviour is mistaken for the holy spirit entering ones body.

Anyway to answer your question, it is not of God for sure. I know because I spent 3 years in this movement from 1972 to 1975.

Yes, I have watched closely those who supposedly in the spirit. I even sought after it myself. I was run out of those churches for my honesty.

When I spoke in tongues it was after many months going to the altar every week and one night after 45 minutes of drums blaring, Guitars blasting the preacher and other men keeping a very tight hold on my head, my arms raised, me saying Jesus, Jesus, over and over, many men and women dancing around me in ecstasy my body finally broke down and I started speaking gibberish, and moving involuntary and everyone was praising God that this evil sinner had finally let go and let God in.

Well being the honest person I am, after I regained my senses, I merely explained that what I experienced was just a normal psychological response to all the pressure I was under and that it was not from god, but self induced and I had to leave, I was considered demon possessed ever since. My dad spent the next 25 years calling me a demon and turned my kids against me. He died hating me and thinking I was demon possessed.

My personal expereince with this movement all my life with friends and reletives in it, I have noticed that it takes most people many months or years brain washing themselves in order to beleive this stuff, but when the brain washing takes effect, then there is no listening to logic or reason. I watched my dad brain wash himself over 40 years(he had started before I was born and was about 50 years old when he finally beleived this) and my mother nearly as long before finally actually believing and embracing this doctrine. My mother did fight it much longer and harder than my dad, but when she gave in, she gave in.

Satan speaks in tongues,example abra kadbra,or some chant
spoken over and over,some mutter and some let their "spirit guide" speak.I'll stand with Penetcostals on this one.
