It depends on which office you applied to but when I was at my local office they said it was common for it to be a year.
So that is 3-5 years to wait from when you get your Green Card to applying for an appointment then another year to get your appointment. Madness isn't it! lol

Check the US immigration and naturalization site.

There is a statutory period required by law for you to become a citizen. When I was naturalized, it took close to a year I think.
