My friend Tina bleached her hair blonde and we boiled some water and put koolaid in it and dipped her hair and it turned red.. we did highlights, not the whole head and they faded out awesomely to a fuschia and then to a pink, we even dipped our white cats tail (not into boiling hot water though.. when it had cooled) and that worked. I do not know if food coloring would work for sure.. but i do know that if it would work, it would only work on bleached hair. I know this because bleach opens up the hairs "pores" to allow the next product (color, toner, conditioner etc.) to absord much quicker.. it is like the hair is dried out waiting to suck up the very next thing.. it will not work on regular hair... by that i mean dark, or natural. Also, any funky colors like ManicPanic products that you can find at HotTopic stores etc. are expensive and also require the purchasing of their very own bleaching kit to kinda prove my answer. Hope this helps.

You probably can but i wouln't recommend it as the colour is not designed to 'take' to human hair. No doubt it would just wash straight out. Why not just spend £1 on a toner or shader hair dye or push the boat out and spend maybe £4.99 on a supermarket one like Garnier Nutrissee?

only as a temporary coloring. But why do that there are lots of spray on colors available from those costume shops that rent out for theatre and halloween.

i would not recommend using food colouring as hair colour, even though it will not damage your hair it will just come out once it goes into your hair especially on wet days.i would stick with the food colouring going in food.just buy a temporary colour if you don't want to chemically treat your hair using it will cause no damage to your hair and will wash out using shampoo.

If you squeeze lemon juice on your hair and sit in the sun (on a very sunny day) for a while it will bleach your hair.

I don't think that it would work... I think it would wash out....but creative thinking! I use L`Oreal Pulse. It's sold at Walgreens, and only costs about $5.00. Hope I helped!

Yes, it will give you a temporary color, usually until you wash it.
