Peroxide will dye your hair, however too much and it gives the hair an orange tint ! As far as it being bad for your hair, so it boxed hair dye. Just use a little at a time, like in a spritzer bottle, and diluted with water. Also, if you look at the "sun in", and "super sun in" products, which are designed for hair, that is what they are. They are diluted peroxide put in a bottle with a fancy label and sold for 10 times the cost of peroxide.

FYI Look at teeth brightner products and tooth whitening toothpaste and mouthwash...... peroxide. Just use peroxide and water as a rinse to brighten teeth !

Peroxide works as an activator to powdered bleaching agents.. peroxide alone would not bleach the hair, only damage it a little because it contains some alcolohol.

yes. if you have very dark to black hair, i've seen it turn peoples hair like an blonde/orange color. it looks very ugly. if you do use peroxide, make sure not to get it on your scalp, just mainly the actual hair. i would not recommend using it if you are trying to go blonde, get a bleach kit at your local Sally's or salon products store. It's much easier, and it works...and don't get it on your scalp!

I tried that I did not do my whole head I put a thin streak in it it turned like a orange blonde color and my hair is dark brown. Nothing bad happened to my hair, but I was told it is not good for your hair.
