so everyone's a child of God, theoretically, right? so why is so much emphasis placed on Jesus being THE son of God?

awright, so let's say people who aren't Christian aren't God's children. that still leaves a lot of people. why weren't they granted all those special powers like Jesus was?

please stop preaching things totally irrelevant. i just want an explanation.

Jesus was Guru, teacher, representative of God, and therefore had the same authority as God. That is the Son of God. If you leave your eldest child in charge of the younger, the word of the eldest child is as good as your word. If you say, "No Television. Do your Homework", and your eldest says, "No TV, we have to do homework", then what is the difference between you and your son? When Christ said, "No one comes to the Father but through me", He is signifying the process by which one may approach God. One must first inquire submissively from God's representative, who can teach us how to serve God.

Whatever Christians have interpreted, extropolated, fabricated, speculated, bufricated, and dessicated to make scripture conform to their dogma, the best source of what Jesus meant are His own words.

In the context of being sons and daughters of God, we are all created by the seed-giving Father, we are all maintained by the mother earth.

No we are not the children of god, OUR PARENTS BORN US, GOD CREATED US,it differs greatly.

019.088 They say: "(God) Most Gracious has begotten a son!"
019.089 Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!
019.090 As if the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin.
019.091 That they should invoke a son for (God) Most Gracious.
019.092 For it is not consonant with the majesty of (God) Most Gracious that He should beget a son.
019.093 Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to (God) Most Gracious as a servant.

006.101 To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: How can He have a son when He hath no consort? He created all things, and He hath full knowledge of all things.

023.091 No son did God beget, nor is there any god along with Him: (if there were many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to God! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him!

043.081 Say: "If (God) Most Gracious had a son, I would be the first to worship."

004.171 O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of God aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a Messenger of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in God and His Messengers. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for God is One God: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is God as a Disposer of affairs.
004.172 Christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship God, nor do the angels, those nearest (to God): those who disdain His worship and are arrogant-- He will gather them all together unto Himself to (answer).

The distinction can be made in that Jesus was actually the fullness of God and also fully human. He only refered to Himself as the Son of God to show the relationship we are to have with God. Jesus came as an example! Only God, being completely pure, could honestly die and satisfy the eternal damnation to hell that we all deserve. We are called children of God because that is how the relationship should be viewed as. Parents love their children more than the word "love" could describe, and would die for them. God did that by coming to earth as a man and dying for us! Thanks for the question...

Because God appeared on this earth as Jesus to live what mankind is going through. Now God Jesus And the holy spirit are one. Each truine being had a functionally yet all summed up to be one creator which is God and he was God. Jesus said pray to my father in heaven not to me and that should tell the world something.Gog is God and we should call him our father in heaven.

No, theoreticalls not everyone is a child of God. In fact, the Bible tells you what is nessisary to BECOME a child of God... and that is Jesus.

John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the RIGHT TO BECOME children of God—

Because Jesus came in the flesh, as God- and is also the son of God- hard to understand but that is what it is. And we who believe in the Lord are called the children of God, and also the sheep of His pasture. We are also called "saints of God" --there are many names for God and for we who are believers....

We are all God's creation, but that does not automatically make us His "children". We become God's children through the process of adoption: When we adopt His Son into our hearts, God the Father adopt us into His family.

"For as many as received [Jesus], to them gave He the power to become the children of God" (John 1).

Becoming a child of God is not a given but instead a blessing and a privilege. As stated above, even though God created you, He also has to empower you to become His child through faith in His Son.

Because Jesus is the way and the truth and the life, and no one will enter to the Father's house except through Him. He is the model. He is the example. That is the emphasis.
