To be quite honest, there is no accepted set of tests for ADD at this point in time. The profession is attempting to put together tests, but so far their efforts have not come up with anything that gives the sort of concrete results that diagnostic tests for other conditions demand.
Dispite what you may hear, Adult ADD is not particulary rare, but if you have it now, you would also have had it in childhood as well. While some children "outgrow" ADD, for others the condition continues on into adulthood. I'm 58, and I know other folks even older who still are fairly flagrent in their symptoms.
What I would suggest you do is read the classic book "Driven to Distraction" and see what sort of emotional response you get from it. For people who truly have ADD......well......they ususally find themselves having a fairly intense personal reaction to what they read there. The revelation....well... kind of hits you like a ton of bricks.
So.....most likely you will find yourself having a reaction as well, if you indeed have ADD.
That's what I would do : Give this book a read, see what you think, and then you can go from there.

Well there are a bunch of online test, but if they say you have it you still have to get tested by a real doctor of some sort. I went to the counselling center at my college, other people I know have simply gone to their doctors who referred them. The website www.help4adhd.org has resources and lists places you can go.

Adults very rarely have ADHD. Only psychologists/psychiatrist do the testing for that with adult patients.

ask your primary physican to recommend someone to you. if you don't have one then call your local hospital and they can.
