My sister had this problem a few years ago. She tried several things, but nothing seemed to work. I use/recommend LIME JUICE for way too many things including dry scalp. But you need to be careful how you use it. You can use the juice of four or five limes n gently apply it on your scalp with a small sponge. (Do this at night when you don't have to go out again) You can try leave it on until the morning and then wash as you normally would. Now, this will/may feel like burning a little. If your skin is too sensitive, you may mix the juice with some warm water, but not too much (maybe the same amount you use of juice). Besides moisturizing your skin it makes your hair shine. If you do this you will love it after the first of second time you apply it. You may try this once or twice a week. Don't use it if you color your hair.

Probably not. I'm pretty sure that hot oil treatments are for your hair rather than your scalp.
Try a zinc or dandruff shampoo if you think you need it. Also rinse your hair and scalp in tepid/warm water for at least a minute to get all the shampoo out.

Yes, yes, yes and double yes!! I have that problem a little, but my daughter has a small case of exema so obviously her dry scalp is an ongoing PAIN for her! Oil treatment helps SO much!! Be careful not to get carried away with it though, you don't want the greasy look!!

No but it will make your hair nice and silky. Try a dandruff shampoo. I have the same problem. The winter air is drying out my skin and my scalp is so itchy! I have been using head&sholders for three days now and its great! Try it, and try the hot oil because hot oil is awesome, just not for itch. Good luck and take care!

yap it will help a lot. i live in colorado and the weather makes my hair so brittle and my scalp so dry and itchy and i have tried a lot of stuff on my hair but when i went to the saloon my dresser said to try hot oil treatment, she gave me this hair elixir from this company www.sheaafricaorganics.com i really like their stuff because it is not really expensive but it works since it is all natural and organic. before i did not know much about organic stuff but this thing really works. so try their stuff also avoid any oil that contains petroleum stuff kile vaseline or mineral oil it will just make it worse

Try using DHS zinc shampoo. I swear by it, and I had dandruff for years. I had only very minimal success with anything else, including hot oil. You can get the shampoo at any CVS.
