She really loves this toy that we play with when I babysit. It's really annoying because it takes a lot of effort to play. What should I do to get her to stop playing the toy?

I think you should let her enjoy her toy. If it is a lot of effort for a big adult like you, it must be much more effort for a little kid like her, and she will fall asleep sooner.

Plus, you are being paid to baby sit. In other words, you are being paid to play. Enjoy it.

Nothing, just let her play with it and play with her with the toy. You can set a time limit or distract her after a couple of round with the toy. I'm not sure how old she is, but maybe you could have her help you make some cookies or something, kids love to roll out dough and use cookie cutters, just make sure you do all the parts that involve the cooking. She probably only gets to play with that toy when you babysit, maybe her parents don't play with that toy with her.

I don't think you should. If you care about what she likes and what will make her happiest you wouldn't want anything other than for her to have the toy that she likes best.

Whether it is a job or being a parent, there are all kinds of "annoying" things in this life that we just have to buck up and deal with. Maybe another babysitter would find the girl's toy less annoying.

remember who is babysitter and who is the baby. you are getting a salary to amuse her. be glad she has a toy she wants to play with. just think if she didn't, you would be spending much more of your energy to try to find something to please her. you should consider yourself lucky - instead of thinking of it as a lot of effort. your life could be a lot harder if she was an unhappy child while you were in charge. in fact, you could even lose your job if this child tells her mom that she's not happy with you. think before you take it away from her in any shape or form. just consider it as part of job and learn to accept her and her toy. :)

Slowly wean her from it. Hide it from her when you go babysitting (but not for too long) and then if she cries, try and distract her with something else. If she just HAS to have her way, then ignore her. Pretty soon she'll want your attention back, and as a reward (after however many minutes) you can give her back her toy! :D Good luck!

I understand what you're asking and in case you do no longer provide your son dolls to play with i'm confident he will prove large besides. yet i do no longer see how a doll ought to impression every physique's gender identity. no remember while you're male or woman, in case you have slightly one you could like it and look after it the two way. that's what toddler dolls emulate. slightly female pretends to be its mommy and slightly boy pretends to be its daddy. i think of that's significant for boys to have dolls. No, that does no longer recommend you ought to purchase him some flowery purple factor, they have masculine "dolls." whether its purely a Diego doll or Spiderman or despite, he can nevertheless roleplay a discern-toddler difficulty with it. My daughter is 20 months previous and LOVES toddler dolls greater advantageous than something. i'm pregnant with a boy now and he will have masculine dolls to play with. She has a play kitchen and all the doll accesories (stroller, extreme chair, bassinet, etc) and she or he likes to prepare dinner for them and look after the little ones and that i'm confident her little brother would be enjoying an identical factor along with her. some human beings additionally think of a boy don't have a play kitchen yet men could understand the thank you to prepare dinner too! My husband is a chef so i'm confident our little boy will love pretending to be a chef in his play kitchen, feeding his dolls in basic terms like his daddy feeds him. So in certainty, I do in basic terms no longer see how dolls might impression a boy's gender identity except you have been getting girly flower princess dolls for him as a replace of something boyish.

Teach her how to use Linux, or any other UNIX based OS. I quit playing with toys because of Linux, why can't she.
