Are you talking about the movie? No, not really. There are some elements that are found in the Bible (the betrayal by Jenner and the mystical power that allows Mrs. Frisby to lift the stone). But really, I would say that they are there more for dramatic effect than for any religous purpose.

The movie is a bastardization of the book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH.

Hope this helps

I really dont think so. Its just a kids movie. Of course, bravery, self-sacrifice, love, and family are important religious themes, but also great for an animated film.
Although, smarty-pants is right. National Institute of Mental Health must be where the rats are kept. There is more of a political message than a religious one

I believe it was meant to be a metaphor of socio-political and governmental cultures, as NIMH stands for National Institute of Mental Health. However, the mind and social control symbolism sure could have been meant that way. Guess I was in a political frame of mind when I watched it.

I loved that animated movie as a kid...I watched it at least 100 times a year...maybe I'm ignorant, but I don't remember any religious symbolism...
humans plowing up rabbits & mice, rats that were experimented on to have human thought processes, stealing electricity, planned assassination of their rat leader Nicodemus while helping Mrs. Brisby move her family to safety...to me, I found no religious comparisons...if anything the complete opposite...

I'd say there were more environmental awareness and animal cruelty prevention subtleties than any religious symbolism. Although the whole stone/medallion had a "holy grail" kind of mystique about it.

Wow, I thought I was one of the only ones who remembered that movie. That was Don Bluth at his finest.

Not a religious symbol, but more of a saying about evil and man, on his scientific findings. Something about, you shouldn't hinder with nature's way.
