It was a fall wedding and it was red and orange. The colors were a good compromise because they were not girly colors.

My wedding was wedding-themed! Really, I've been to wedding that have "themes", and frankly, no one picks up on the theme unless they're hit over the head with it, and if that happens then the theme is too over the top and tacky. Skip the theme, seriously.
My colors were pink and green. Pink because I fell in love with a wedding dress that had pink accents, and green because that's the color the bridesmaid's liked best for their dresses. The flowers in the bouquets and on the cake were made to match the dresses. I think some of the bridal shower favors incorporated the colors, but that's about it.

I had a dark pink like a fushia and a light pink mix. The bridesmaids and maid of honor wore dark pink dresses with a light pink sash. The flowers were gerbera daisies (large and small sizes) in both pinks. The maids had just the two pinks, and I had both pinks with some white roses mixed in the boquet. The centerpieces were both pinks. The men wore black tuxes with white ties and vests and the only pink they wore was the flower in the jacket. It was PERFECT! I loved it and would totally do it that way again if I had to redo it all. Oh and we had some dark and light pink flowers on the cake too (which was white).

My color scheme is antique/celadon green, cream, and hints of lilac. I don't have a theme (other than getting married). I incorporated the colors in a few things. The bridesmaids dresses are celadon, the flowers they are carrying are antique green hydrangeas, cream roses, and a few little flowers, not sure of the name, that are a pale lilac color. The centerpieces are the same flowers in tall glass vases. The labels on my favors are antique green, as are the borders on the invitations, place cards, and table numbers. That's it so far. The only thing I might add is the napkins may also be green, not sure yet, I don't want to over do it.

I am getting married on June 23rd and my colors are brown and pink.
These are my bridesmaid dresses
http://www.jimhjelmoccasions.com/dress_db_occ/display_dress.php?imageno=5705
My invitations will also be pink and brown. I found them on myjean.com.
I haven't comletely decided on my favors. I don't know if I want to do the cute little tins or some kind of box with ribbons but the filler is definitely going to be personalized brown, pink, and cream M&M's.
My flowers will be different shades of pinks. Not sure exactly what I want yet. But pretty much everything is brown and pink.
But basically I'm going with a traditional, modern, elegant kind of look. I think that the brown and pink is so modern. But yet my bridesmaid dresses are going to have lace which is so traditional and old fashioned. But it looks elegant. My dress is the same. It's traditional yet definitely modern but still elegant. I love it. But that is what I'm doing. Good Luck! Go with colors that you like and that you can do alot with. My advice though is to look at bridesmaid dresses first. When I started looking at them it took me forever to pick one out. I kind of wished that I would have looken at dresses first before i decided everything. I think that like the dark orange and green are beautiful on most of the dresses I looked at. So if your picky about stuff like that maybe look at that and it can inspire you. Just a suggestion.

We did an icy blue and crisp white. It was so elegant. We had an outdoor wedding. The centerpieces were all flowers and had tiny little tweedia with all white flowers otherwise. The favor table had candies that were our colors along with organza bags in our colors for our guests to put the candy of their choice in. The place cards had their meal choice in either a flat, white paper flower for fish or a blue flower for the beef entree. We also had a champagne only reception so we had those wine charm things for each person's champagne glass and we put white, silver, and icy blue beads on them.

I had different shades of the same pink, with dresses just below the knee. This was quite radical in my day - 1986. Then I had one pink rose and babies breath on every table.
They do things so much cooler now. No theme, though. I don't think they did that then.
The under cloths on the tables were pink as were the napkins. There was extra pink on the cake and raspberry, strawberry and cherry filling between layers.
And I don't like pink.
It worked though - it was very pretty.
Do what YOU want - it's YOUR day. Don't pay attention to anyone except your fiance. This includes your mother and definitely your mother-in-law.

I got married over St Patrick's weekend and had a green and white Irish folk wedding... bag pipes, lots of greenery and sharocks and ivy. Lots of Guinness and Irish whiskey too!! We had a buffet style dinner and to keep with the Irish theme, we had a Potato Bar. Like a salad bar but with potatos (fried, baked, roasted etc) with all the fixins. My husband is a musician so we had some of his friends play an Irish folk music set with mandolin and fiddle. It was fantastic!

I am having fushia and ice blue. The girls are wearing fushia, holding a mainly white bouquet with a little splash of blue and fushia, I have a mainly fushia bouquet with a little white and blue,
The boys are wearing black tux with a stiped cream and fushia tie (it looks amazing) and the groom is wearing black tux with a silver and cream striped tie. They will have ice blue boutineers, the give aways are m and ms in fushia and ice blue that I ordered at mymms.com and the centre pieces are square small vases, with ice blue stones at the bottom and a pink peonie. the talbe cloths are cream with a fushia smaller one on top.
so far that is all I know. i love pink if you can't tell.
I didn't let anyone tell me what they thought, blue is his fav color and pink is mine. Then we looked for the right shades and put them together. We actually spent a couple of hours in the paint store looking at samples and took them home to figure it out.

Chocolate Brown with accents of Turquoise Blue. It was a garden wedding with an indoor reception. We had a sort of understated beach theme with just touches of starfish, white sand and shells incorporated into the decor. We had white flowers and ivory flowers.
It was summer so the bridesmaids wore satin tea length gowns. They wore brown halter dresses with a light turquoise sash. The groomsmen wore Brown tuxes with off white shirts and ties. The only turquoise they had was on a satin ribbon on the boutinneer. My husband and I both wore off white and champagne. I had a long beaded halter dress with a champagne colored sash and a long beaded train. The pictures look really good and we are happy with our choice looking back.
It was very elegant, and although the colors were different than usual, it was a nice change. All of my friends had bright colors like teal and peach, so it was very different in a nice way. We got a lot of compliments on the uniqueness of it all. A friend of mine is having brown and pink now.
I actually have a picture of our cake on the bakery's website you can see. It had our colors. Here is the link, look up cake number 18. You can't see it there, but we had our inititals in Chocolate on the side of the top layer. Our last name initial was larger in the middle with my husbands initial smaller on the left and mine smaller on the right.
For favors, we gave Tiffany colored blue box with a brown and ivory sticker on each one with our initials and wedding date. The box had a turquoise and brown striped ribbon tag on it to open it. It was filled with Godiva chocolate truffles.
Hope this helps

We are getting married this march, and we're using wine and champagne as our colors. My dress is ivory, so the burgundy and pale gold look gorgeous with it. There are tons of colors and varieties of flowers that work with this, and it is going to come out very elegant. Good luck!
