just got it in the mail and read over the forms.. now a few questiosn for it...
1. u can qualify if kid is under 19 or 24 and was in college at the time in 2004?
2. my account said its garabage and attempted to throw it out..can i fill it out and send it without accountants help?

it all falls in the range the income that year and the child age....my being the child

no let me rephrase this...people may think that im trying a scam...my father got the papers today under his name...and yes im the son in all of this....and i was 24 at the time.

The qualifying child has to be UNDER age 24 and a full-time student, or UNDER age 19, to qualify the parent for the EIC. If you were 24, you were too old to be a qualifying child for your parent, even if you were in school.

If you have a qualifying child and your income falls within the accepted range, the EIC is not garbage. Last year we got $1,000 for the EIC and another $1,000 for the additional EIC because our income fell just in the right range.

the eic is when YOU have a kid not that YOU ARE a kid. Nice try.
