Duel Cross Country Please Help?

Question

I’m going to flying through a class B airspace (KLAX)
from(KCRQ) Carlsbad to (KSMO). How do i get through the corridor?
What do I need to know ?

You need to study the special flight rules section of the LA sectional.

1) You will need to get affirmitive permission to enter class B.

2) You will need to follow the flight corridor for VFR transit(assume you are VFR)

3) You will need to follow strict altitude requirement on special instructions in corridor

4) You have a choice of inland or shore corridor route. The shore corridor is easyier for novice.....just follow shorline and listen to controller instructions. The inland corridor takes you directly over LAX....more exciting route.

This is not hard.....just need to follow strict navigation and communication rules. It is easier than it sounds.

First, to enter class B airspace you must have a clearance.
(You MUST hear "cleared into Bravo").
To do this, simply call up approach and give your tail number ,
type of airplane, altitude, location, and request transition through their airspace. (GOOD luck getting the clearance). Otherwise you must stay clear. Going under the class B shelf or around or over. Unless there is a VFR corridor

(c) Aircraft not landing or departing the primary airport may obtain an ATC clearance to transit the Class B airspace when traffic conditions permit and provided the requirements of 14 CFR Section 91.131 are met. Such VFR aircraft are encouraged, to the extent possible, to operate at altitudes above or below the Class B airspace or transit through established VFR corridors. Pilots operating in VFR corridors are urged to use frequency 122.750 MHz for the exchange of aircraft position information.

Communications and navigation equipment requirements. Unless otherwise authorized by ATC, no person may operate an aircraft within a Class B airspace area unless that aircraft is equipped with—

(1) For IFR operation. An operable VOR or TACAN receiver; and

(2) For all operations. An operable two-way radio capable of communications with ATC on appropriate frequencies for that Class B airspace area.

(d) Transponder requirements. No person may operate an aircraft in a Class B airspace area unless the aircraft is equipped with the applicable operating transponder and automatic altitude reporting equipment specified in paragraph (a) of §91.215, except as provided in paragraph (d) of that section.
