Would people who have side tattoos (not on ribs, though) or tattoo artists/piercers(who have them)....talk to me about them.
The pain
The look
and any other information that you would like to add!

Thank you!

Surely. I have a geisha on each side, from my ribs to my hip. I'm not going to lie or try to act tough, it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced! Especially on the bony areas. They were the only tattoos that I almost didn't finish in one sitting, though I eventually pushed myself through it. When getting a side tattoo, especially for a woman, it's important to get something that enhances you shape. They should flow well with you curves so you don't end up looking weird. Mine came out beautiful and they make my hourglass figure look even more svelte.
And like the people above have said, if you plan on having kids, don't do it. They will look horrible after pregnancy.

they look awesome! the bigger the better! and no matter what, DO NOT THINK YOU WILL DO A BIG A$% RIB OR SIDE OR BACK PIECE IN ONE SITTING! YOU AIN'T LLOYD BANKS ON MIAMI INK!! and besides that was black and grey. not full color.(way worse) it f'in hurts like sh*&. trust me. you can do alot in a sitting. but no where near what you think you can. it sucks. kinda like eyes bigger than your stomach type situation. basically, don't have your artist pour up all the colors when you are really gonna be crying by the time he is done with the outline. it will suprise you it hurts so bad. hope this helps.

you may say you dont want children....BUT you don't know that 5-10 years down the line, neither do you know how much you'll weigh. They generally look nice there, but all tattoos look nice as long as they are not flash art. If they are unique, custom pieces then yes they will looks good. As far as pain, I can't answer that because I dont know your pain tolerance, just remember that if tattoos on aany part of the body were SO painful, millions of people around the world wouln'd have them.

Hi, I have 2 side tattoos and I absolutely love them! Not to sound rude or anything, but I am thin and don't plan on having children so thats why I thought it would be okay to get tattoos on my sides. If you plan on having children one day, I would not recommend it due to strecthing on the skin.

I agree with some of the answers here, you have some good info to base your decision on. I think side tats look so beeautiful on girls who are really toned.

It hurts like hell because it's right on the bone.
