Help!!!!!!!!!!
We have moved to a larger property that has a down stais toilet. My son 2 and daughter 1 are obsessed with it. I lock the door all the time, but when someone goes to the toilet they dash in as they are leaving throw, toilet rolls. toys, batteries etc in there and flush the chain. I have disciplined them, explained to them why it is wrong, shouted, distracted them but nothing works they're addicted!!!!
The main problem is when vistors are leaving the toilet as I cant stand outside to stop them entering as it would make people feel uncomfortable, and its not their place to stop them.
Any tips?

they make toilet lid locks. I had to purchase a few when my daughter went through the toilet obessession stage. Its a realllly easy little plastic thing. Adults just push this button and pull it the lid comes right up. Any guests you have im sure would understand that you have toddlers around and be happy to put the lid back down when they leave seeing as how it was locked.

Love the locking seat idea. Add a cute and colorful (so even the stupid ones can see it) sign on the 'inside' of the bathroom door reminding them to lock the lid back.

there are safety devices that attach to the toilet so the lid can't be lifted. they are like the devices you use for cabinet doors and drawers...
try safety first, they make lots of products like this!

this way, as long as the person leaving the bathroom puts the lid down, they can't get to the toilet bowl!

take car.e

you ought to purchase a lock on your lid. My son flushed a wash cloth while he replaced into 18 months previous and it ended up flooding the full basement with sewage. It took 3 days of snaking to locate the clog. Then at the instant he flushed a physique spray bottle (he's 3). we don't have a lock, we in basic terms consistently supervise him while he's utilising the bathing room. the two situations while supervision failed is while my dad replaced into in there with him. His supervision equals no supervision.

This is normal I remember doing that. Once they do it give them the worst punishment you can think of. If you don't want to hurt them then make up something like the potty monster is going to come after you.
