Just curious, what are your thoughts about a man in his late 40's who never had a tattoo, then he has your name tattood on his arm as a way to symbolize his love?

I love tattoos, so so much. I also agree tattoos should have meaning and some real reason to the owner, it just shows them as a person in artwork and sometimes even tells a story. It bothers me when people just get tattoos of whatever because they thought it looked cool as it's just stupid to waste money and ink on something you'll regret or when they get their friend to do it for them and it really looks awful, I mean if it is important to you why not get it to look fantastic? Also whilst in some workplaces tattoos aren't really approved as they look 'unprofessional' I mean I understand this but I do feel it is a little unfair as you know if our body is a temple why not decorate it, it's our body right? Overall tattoos are AWESOME, but I do see why some people do not like them which is fair enough they are allowed an opinion :)

Love tattoos!! but why a name?
Hope the two of you have long lasting love... now you should think of matching tattoos symbols. They work much better than names.
What if you two split? Then your new girl has to look at that name... Think!!!

Tattoos are great but never for any reason put someones name on your body unless it is your kids name or maybe your parents names. If things don't work out between you and the girl then having it removed is not a pretty sight and not cheap.

I have a tattoo myself, i think its a great way for people to express themselves,however i personally would never get someones name unless it was my childs name- its a very personal thing & what if the relationship didnt work- you would be reminded of that every time you looked at it.

I like tattoos but not when it comes to putting someones name on them. I just think it is a turn off if a guy I am dating has an ex's name on his arm....chest etc. Let us just hope you 2 stay together.

Getting anyone's name tattooed on your body is dumb. I wouldn't ask the guy I was with to do that...even if we were to gether for the next 60 billion years together. Angelina Jolie thought her and Billie BoB were going to be together... are they now? No. Lucky for her she can afford to remove it. As far as getting a tattoo at 40. Who cares. It's your body and you make your own decisions.

Not a good idea at all. A parent or a child is no problem cause they will never change but a girlfriend or wife is one big no no. Too many things can happen. Break ups, fall out of love or (heaven forbid) death. Don't do it, it's like cursing your relationship.

If you do break up, he can always put an x thru it and put the next name under it. I'm not much on tatoos unless they go on with water. If you regret it, take a bath and its gone.

if i was ever going to get a tatoo i would only get a little cross on my ankle, but i would NEVER put someones name on me!! because what happens wen u stop loving that person? u have a permanent mark on u,FOREVER!
