Wow, kids these days are horrible. They made fun of you for that? They must seriously have nothing better to do. Everyone messes up. I have gotten so nervous before that I have even forgotten how to spell the word "the" You just worry about yourself and not them. They obviously are immature....and I am positive they make mistakes too. Stick by your friend and just talk to each other when they start making fun of you, they will get mad that you are ignoring them and aren't bothered by it and after awhile they will just give up. If they don't stop, say to them "wow this is getting old, I forgot no one ever makes mistakes!" Roll your eyes, and walk away....because they are idiots, seriously.

It was unfortunate and it happens to the best of us. Don't sweat it, it happens. The only way you get them to stop is ignore them. I'd be willing to bet they've spelled a lot worse in their time. Just ignore them and in time (two or three days) it will be forgotten.

If you want a good laugh, just look at the way some of these people on this board is spelling more simple words and they can use the check spelling button but they don't. I think that's way more funnier than your little mistake.

We all do things we're embarrassed about. There is nothing you can do but hold your head high and know that it will go away in time, like as soon as they find someone new to make fun of. It's pretty sad that people make fun of someone else's faults but not their own. You'll be out of school soon and probably never see those people ever again. Don't stoop to their level and back up what you did or laugh with them you made a mistake and thats all, just ignore them! You're going to have to deal with things like this for the rest of your life so there is no reason to ever acknowledge it.

It is normal to have stage frieght and be nervous, just because you spelled a word wrong does not mean you are dumb or stupid, there is always room for improvement. When people laugh at you and make fun of you and your friend they are being foolish and having nothing else better do. Don't worry about what people think, focus on what is important to you, you friend should do the samething.

If they are making fun of you, maybe it's because they did not qualify for the spelling bee!
Everyone chokes under pressure and that's what you did - so what, just move on to the next level. Hope to see you on "Who wants to be a millionaire!!!!"
As far as those laughing at you, just laugh along with them because you know better.
We all do things and just have to grin and bear it sometimes.

This is a little tricky. I would ignore them. Now if you want to put them on the spot then ask them a super hard word to spell of course make sure you can spell it first. You dont want this to back fire. I honestly believe that they are immature and just ignoreing them usually works. My ultimate favorite is finding out something bad about that group and tell their friends about it.This will embarrass them so bad that they will never laugh again.

well that is kinda funny! get over it and learn how to laugh at yourself. It was a mistke, big deal. I guarantee if you didnt let it bother you so much, people wouldnt make fun of you. But like I said, im 23 and I would have laughed too even if I was the one that spelled it wrong. lol

Anyone who makes fun of you for misspelling a word is just useless. It's stupid to make fun of someone just because they made a mistake. I'd say to just ignore them. Don't let it bother you... you really can't make them stop. All you can do is act as if you don't care. Ignore them. Act like they aren't there; they will eventually give up because they want to make you disturbed, and they want you to feel bad. So if you keep your chin up and don't let it bother you, it's going to make them mad and make them bored of making fun of you because it has no effect on you.

Point is, just don't let it bother you, and ignore them. They should eventually go away.

Hope this helps

=)

Tell them to grow up. Everyone makes mistakes and some make them more when they are nervous. I would ignore them after telling them to grow up. Remind them that when something happens to them that is embarrassing, you wouldn't want people continuously laughing at them. Ask them to be respectful and to please drop it. You accepted that you misspelled it, and you no longer wish to rehash the past. After that, just walk away from them if they continue. When they know it no longer bothers you, they will let it drop. Hopefully once you talk to them, they will be grown up enough to drop it. Everyone is embarrassed at times in their lives and wishes that others wouldn't remember. Ask them to respect that for you right now. Your true friends should understand. Hugs to you.
