Nope.
No bonus points for 'sounding' Christian.
God looks on the heart.
Even as a Christian, I am sometimes repulsed by people who put on their 'plastic Jesus-face' and act like they are on a cloud and there are no real problems in the world. You all KNOW what I'm talking about, no matter which side of the issue you're on.
Most are not like that, and many just talk that way and are not putting on an air. I'm fine with that.

Judging from the basic lack of spelling and grammar competency among some of the Christian cultist on this board, I don't think there are many bonus point winners here.
As far as your question, I sometimes wonder if it is because the world does not have a great deal of evidence for god's presence. Perhaps they need to convince themselves. They try to make secular acts seem spiritual although, in truth, Christmas would sail right along as a secular holiday without any mention of Jesus just as Presidents Day is just a three day sales event.

First thing to understanding a Christian....Until you have had the holy spirit enter your life its hard to know why they are so different. But if you had ever been touched by that Spirit you would understand completely why they are always talking like that...
THEY ARE BLESSED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD ! and there life's will never be the same again. And until you have had that happen you could never understand them.
The Bible calls them a peculiar people. And misunderstood by others they are, and have been for thousands of years.
Hope this helps a little.

From the mouth flows the issues of the heart. Christians vocabulary are different. If they have God's word imprinted in their hearts and minds, they will speak differently. Those who have more scripture memorized will often bring it up in speech and in prayer, this is what is supposed to happen to mature Christians.
You will speak about (and like) those whom you glorify most. If you spend all your time on a computer and are a programmer and are ingrained with computer knowledge and most of your friends are computer nuts, you will have an inclination to use a vernacular that reflects that worldview. If you are a total sports guy, watch sports everynight, you will tend to talk mostly about sports and have most of your friends that talk about mostly sports and you will incorporate vernacular that is more specific to that realm.
You become what you behold - John Piper

In my opinion it makes them sound like tossers.
Sounds like they are martyrs as well.
In some religions it is said that martyrs will receive 72 virgins when they go to heaven.
But virginity only lasts so long doesn't it.
And it would be a major task to find so many virgins for so many aspiring martyrs

Many do. Ever seen the Catholic channel on TV? eek!
When a person is saved, thier entire point of view on life flips. That's why.
And no, the points we get are for our eternal treasures, and are a result of bringing people into the kingdom, and basically doing what Christ did. :)
-----------
Our validity is not what we say, it is when we fulfill our word through action, and love one another. (biblically speaking!)
-----------
And for the record, I'd say I talk normally, heart-to-heart. That doesn't stop me from talking about Christ's love for people though.
I only say 'thou art' to be funny. :D

We do not get points from God. We get saved only b the mercy and grace of God.
So are you saying that you are better in your faith than they are?
