I would assume that the section you were cited for, and pled guilty to, was CVC 23111 (see below).
23111. No person in any vehicle and no pedestrian shall throw or
discharge from or upon any road or highway or adjoining area, public
or private, any lighted or nonlighted cigarette, cigar, match, or any
flaming or glowing substance. This section shall be known as the
Paul Buzzo Act.
This is NOT a moving violation and will not imapct your insurance rates or driving record in that sense. It will, however, appear on your driving record when the police run your license and they will be able to see that you were previously cited for this offense and convicted.

The courts and law enforcement use a miriad of systems to document traffic and criminal convictions.
In my state the throwing of the cigarette is a misdemeanor "criminal littering" and would go in to the systems as such...a conviction for that offense!
Other systems are in use and others coming on line which when accessed by law enforcement for information through the drivers license data base....will show other types of convictions as well!

Well it depends on what the ticket was for- like a parking ticket, then yes that will be on your driving record as a NON-MOVING violation.

If you got a ticket not driving, it's not a traffic violation. Only traffic violations go to your driving record and your ticket wouldn't go there.
